Oh wow! She is quite something. <3 I just love her looks.
Since you are in the UK, it’s quite possible she is a wildie mix with a domestic breed.
She has quite an arch to her back yet her legs remind me of a lop. Her lean form is probably due to her age…
The wild colouring is common in domestic breeds also though.
Her ears look so big in this pic. Is that just the camera angle?
ETA: you’ve mention in your other thread that she’s been labelled an English cross. The terminology for rabbit needs and colours changes around the world. So I’m thinking that could mean several different things!
I don’t have any idea what breed combo she might be but she’s lovely all the same.
She has very big ears, it’s not just the camera – they’re like radars!
She’s been labelled as an English cross but I don’t really know what that means… She’s very very long though!
Maybe she is an English (Spot) cross then. They have hare like form and very distinct colour pattern.
They are about 2.5-3.5kgs
She is absolutely adorable…. So many buns to nap so little time…
Thank you, she’s lovely to have around, such a mischief…
Roberta, all those squee little bunnies!!! So gorgeous <3
Wow, she is stunning!
What a beauty! Twitch’s coloring is so unique, very special indeed. Most bunnies hate being locked up. You should look into getting a puppy pen for her so she has more space to hop around/stretch/play when you’re sleeping or not home.
There are quite a few breeds from different parts of Europe that have large ears and a lanky body shape. So it’s hard to say what your bunny could be mixed with. Not sure what they meant simply by “English” but perhaps they refer to something differently than they would where I live (US).
Here’s a wiki page that lists rabbit breeds. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_rabbit_breeds

Thank you! Your comment about the playpen has cemented my thoughts on extending her cage, so we’ve ordered one – I’m sure she will be a very happy bun with it! Plus then we can leave her to be able to play without worrying that she needs to stretch the paws… ![]()
Ooh thanks LBJ, I’ll get a cuppa and settle down with that tomorrow! I know all that really matters is that she is unbelievably loved – but it’d be nice to have a (good) idea about where she’s come from ![]()
What a pretty girl you have!
QueenTwitch- That’s awesome, she will be glad to have the extra space and never be locked up in a cage again. You can still have the cage inside the playpen with the door open b/c my bun goes in there to sleep sometimes. I also keep her food and water bowl in the cage, and a litterbox outside of it so we don’t need to buy bedding or clean her cage again, whew! FYI, Twitch might mark her territory by pooping everywhere in the pen the first few nights she’s in there, but it will stop once she’s adjusted to the new space.
She’s gorgeous ![]()
She looks like an agouti cross, it’s hard to tell without looking at her fur ( I’ve just got a massive book of rabbit breeds out the library, and I’m glad to be able to put it to use ) Has she got an undercoat? Check for two different types of fur, long and short, if there is only one, she will be a rex. She doesn’t look like a rex, but I might be wrong. Agoutis ( rabbits with wild colouring ) can occur in most rabbit breeds, so she could be pretty much anything
She does look like a silver or english due to the size and body shape. Is she a rescue rabbit, pet shop, or breeder. That might give me some idea of her parentage.
You’ll get a better idea once she has done growing. The lean look and big ears could just be due to her age. Sometimes after their body catches up, the ears look more in proportion.

She’s definitely got an undercoat – very soft long white fur under her, assuming that’s it! She was a pet shop baby, rescued from the eyes of everyone (which is probably where she gets her attention seeking tendencies from!!)

She loves her freedom, that’s for sure! I can’t wait to give her more space, she looks so big in her cage – it always used to look so massive around her… She sleeps on a sort of platform, think she likes the height most.

That’s a very good point, jerseygirl – her colour even changes every day, she’s got new spots all the time. Can’t wait to see what she grows up to be ![]()

I love this film, mummy! We were watching Beauty and the Beast…

Yummy vegetable kebab treat! Never had so much veg before or since!
She might be a pure breed, but an agouti, breeders often give bunnies that aren’t up to show standard to pet shops.
Omg she is just darling! I love that she watches tv like that… so cute like a little kid! I hope you post more pics. In regards to her breed, she’s probably a mix of a few good breeds. Her body resembles a Silver, lean muscle with long legs/ears.

Not sure if I’m being dense, but what do you mean by agouti? I googled it but don’t really feel any the wiser!

There are no pics of us any more, just T!! Will post more soon 🙂 she doesn’t normally do that, though she does chill right out in front of the tv – that was just her reaction to Disney I think! Proper princess…
QT- Agouti is just a dominant color gene that gives that “wild animal” look, usually a band of colors in one hair (think squirrel’s fur). Also, I was intrigued by the mystery of your bun’s breed so I did some research and actually found my own bunny’s pedigree
! At a closer look, Twitch seemed to look very similar esp in the first pic of her sitting upright to the Swedish Hare as well: http://swedishhareuk.weebly.com/index.html
This is a mixed breed that was newly developed to excel at rabbit sports, but also have good looks for rabbit shows. I can’t find a rabbit pic that looks exactly like Twitch, but here are the original Swedish Hares: http://swedishhareuk.weebly.com/fou…globe.html The first one looks almost exactly like my bunny. I hope this helps!
Ahh thank you for explaining that one. We wondered if there was potentially some hare in her somewhere along the line, she’s got that look and shape about her. Thank you, that’s really helpful!
Your little bun is gorgeous, love love love the colouring and ears! Apparently I’ve got a thing for bunny ears…
She’s beautiful! She sounds a lot like my bun, who is also 5 months and about the same weight, but mine’s a New Zealand White. It looks like we’ll both have some big girls when they’re all grown up! NZW females are 10-12lbs full grown, and I’m assuming your bun will be about the same. My bun, Lucy is so active, curious, and smart, but also lately very sweet and lovable!
Technically there can’t be hare in her but there are some rabbit breeds called Hares (i.e. Belgian hare & Swedish apparently!)
The name misleads because they are not hares at all. Haha. Terminology in rabbit breeds, colours, patterns and genetics can be really really confusing!
QT- Thank you, Twitch’s coloring is cooler. Aha, big ears are the best!
jerseygirl- That is true, the Belgian hare looks like wild hare but is actually a rabbit. When creating the Swedish Hare, they combined several breeds with the Belgian Hare so I guess that’s where they derived the name from.
How confusing! We do call her our little hare but clearly she can’t be!!
Caroline – Lucy is gorgeous, look at those eyes! T may well turn out to be much bigger – I’m a bit worried that she will grow too big for the space we have for her, but we’ve just installed her playpen, which she is now pooping all over to mark her territory – will be putting another litter tray in as soon as that arrives to make sure it’s more homey…
