  Gordon, the baby wild rabbit I had, has finished his rehabbing and was released. Today we picked up our new baby buns! Intoducing Mokey (F) and Rumple (M)!
  
  Mokey is on the left, Rumple on the right (with the ‘antenna’)
  
  They are three and a half months old, brother and sister and are bonded very well. They were rescued and nurtured back to health from dire conditions, though the mother did not make it. They are super adorable Lionhead/Lop mixes! Rumple is outgoing and adventurous and does not being handled as much; Mokey is shy and is always weary of her surroundings. Mokey, although not as daring, is bigger and ‘fluffier’ than Rumple. Both seem to enjoy love and attention, if they can round up enough courage to get close enough!
  
  Rumple & Mokey’s pen; has since been reconfigured slightly. The giant cardboard bunny-mansion is the “CottonTail Cottage” we bought from the shelter.
  
  I so look forward to getting to know them better and hope they can lead comfortable and happy lives under my companionship!

  Hello and welcome!! Since you mentioned they were brother and sister, you need to separate them so they don’t reproduce. Boys can be ready at 3 1/2 months, and girls usually take a little longer, but not always and can be impregnanted tragically young. Then if you still want to bond them, they have to be altered and then after recovery, reintroduced welcome again!

  Thanks! Rumple (the boy) was neutered last week and is well recovered. The female is scheduled to be spayed in the future, but for now there will be no baby buns!

  be careful though, because sperm is still viable for a month or more.

  They are incredibly adorable! I did not know the sperm was still viable; I will keep a close eye on them. Rumple hasn’t tried to mount Mokey since right before his alteration, when he started to get a little dominant. He tried to get on her but she lashed out at him, and they have not tried to tango since. They are very sweet, in fact. Rumple is such an adventurer! He will come in and out of his cottage in a moments notice (especially if he suspects I have a treat for him!)

  They are so adorable. I personally would put some nic cubes to seperate their pen until at least 4 weeks have passed in his neuter. At least when you are not there watching them like bedtime or when you’re out of the house.

  Welcome back!! I’m glad everything went well for little Gordon and that you have now welcomed two more little buns into your home. They’re absolutely adorable! I really like their set up, too. It has a ton of space for them to play plus that fancy cardboard cottage. I want something like that for my Luna eventually.
