I apologize for writing so much – I’d try to make this shorter, but if I keep cutting things out it won’t make sense anymore, haha. Also, I’ll have pictures soon when the weather gets better so I have natural light to take nice ones with. <3
My name is Marina, and I’m new to being a bunny slave. So new, in fact, that I only just got my bunny yesterday. My new companion was the result of a long-time wish and the recent and untimely loss of my hamster companion. Saturday I’d finally managed to convince my mom that yes, I was prepared to make the commitment to a bunny and that I had a plan. It’s taken nearly a week, and I know I didn’t search long, but I’m fairly sure I was hypnotized.
So now it’s Sunday morning, and my new bun and I are getting to know each other outside of the pet store environment. Of course, upon coming home last night she was pretty shaky, having to get used to new sights, sounds, and smells, but she’s done an amazing job with adjusting. My mom swears she’s been smiling, but being the one holding her when this happens, I haven’t had a chance to see it yet. I was pleased that when I woke up this morning she was just relaxing (probably sleeping until I told her good morning), and had clearly been eating and whatnot.
She’s still trying to communicate her name; she’s telling me, I’m sure, but it just hasn’t reached me yet. The pet store was a bit iffy with its knowledge on her, but she’s got lop ears – they said she’s a mini lop – and is an absolute sweetheart. As far as her age goes and anything beyond looking and feeling healthy to me, she’ll be visiting our local rabbit specialist very soon for a check-up and to plan for future fixing.
Any advice for this new bunny slave?
