Hello! My name is Brittany and I am new to the BB Forums after being a very long time lurker. I’ve been considering adopting a bun for two years, but with finishing college and life being its crazy self, I waited until I felt like I was in a good position to support a bun emotionally, socially, and financially. Being the over-thinker that I am, I mulled all the pros and cons over until I finally decided that there was more pros than cons. The only con? Being a bunny slave.
But after being one for only two days of having my bun, I’ve decided that it’s more than worth it.
I found Wiz (aka Wizard) on an a shelter’s website a few weeks ago. I was initially interested in another rabbit, but she had bonded with the foster family’s rabbit, so they did not want to separate the two. While it was a semi-disappointment at the time, it was a blessing in disguise. I met Wiz on Monday and immediately knew he was the missing part of my one (only me) person family. He is such a gentle and charismatic bun. He has excellent litter habits and has done very well in terms of adjusting to life in his new home. Obviously, we are still learning things about each other. For instance, he is still learning that me getting up to go to the bathroom at 5 a.m. does NOT mean that it’s time to get up and play. While I’m still learning that he likes the taste of the carpet in the corner of his pen (I’ve tried tons of toys to distract him…so it’s still a work in progress).
Anyway, I’m sure you will all learn more about him and I as I become a part of this amazing community!
Oh, and here’s a picture of the little stinker. He is acting all innocent with his “Well, gee mom, I know I tried to rip the carpet, but I do have the best litter box habits! Don’t you just love me” look.
