HI we are new to both the site and brand new (1st time) bunny parents.. We have a 8 1/2 week old Flemish Giant his name is Sherlock. We had him netuered on Tuesday. He seems to be healing great, but I have a question I noticed his pee is a milky yellow  (sinces he’s peed on me and the couch twice since he has been home) Is it normal for it to be that color… He is eating (pellets and timothy hay) and drinking normally.

I called our vet and they didnt sound concerned…. Maybe I am just a over protective Mommy..

        Thanks,

        Lois Ann

Can’t help – but with introductions, we like to see pictures! And while I won’t, I know others might harrass you until you provide. They LOVE seeing new buns. Congrats on becoming a bunny slave though, you’ll see in no time how much you change to help your little one live a great life!

It’s really cool to see how interactive bunnys really are. I always thought they were more like mice and hamsters just hanging out in their cage, but Buck goes everywhere in the house, jumps up on the chair or couch with us, it’s so cute!

I see my bun’s pee get milky sometimes too, and sometimes it will ever turn red or orange! I wouldn’t be to concerned, especially if he is eating/drinking normally. And what a cute name! I’ve always wanted a Flemmie, or even just to see one in real life! Please post some pics!

Ohh – maybe I know more than I thought, I think I’ve read on here that that’s just extra calcium that their body gets rid of for them… ?
                Maybe check into that

I tried to add pics but couldn’t. Will try again.

He is a Momma’s boy already… I knew they were cool but I had no idea that I would love him so much already… He like to ride in the car (I have never known a bunny to like to go for rides)

He has taken over completely even kick the dog off her bed and claimed it for his own!!

Thanks for the info I will check it out!!

                  Thank you again,

                  Lois

Awww so cute! And how were you able to get him neutered so young? I have always been told boys at 4 months and girls after 6.

welcome! he’s adorable. I know the orange/red pee discoloration is caused by something in the diet. My bun had it but that was because I was feeding too many carrots (before I knew they are more of a treat then a regular veggie). I’m unsure about the milky-looking pee. To be safe you could always call the vet who did his neuter and ask.

Welcome! Handsome bunny you got there! Sherlock is just the perfect name! I love it!

Milky pee sounds O.K. Because I told my vet Pablo was peeing like that, and they didn’t

seem “startled”. Lol. Good luck on your bunny & have fun on this great site!

And I think I’m in love with your bun Sherlock.
I’d check my locks if I were you, I know some people are into bunny-naping. And with a bun as cute as yours….I don’t know…lol
