Hello everyone! My name is Hannah, and my twin and I are very happy to be the new caretakers of a wonderful harlequin mini rex boy!

I have been a huge rabbit lover for a long time, and wished that I could care for my own little fluffer. However, my parents were concerned that the dog would not get along with the bunny, being that she is a hunting dog cross. I was certain that Lucky would leave the bunny alone since she was older and very calm and the bun would be housed in a seperate room altogether, but they still wanted to hold out on it. Then, very out of the blue, a friend of mine asked if we remembered her little bunny “Thumper,” that she had purchased months ealier. We said yes, and she told us she had two days max to find him a home! We talked it over with our parents, and they agreed that he would be safe and that we could care for him. We made plenty of preperations, and now he has been with us for close to a month and has been nuetered. We decded to rechristen him Leo, after the lion, the zodiac sign, and the lion mascot of our school!

Personality wise, he is very, very sweet with a definite naughtiness! He loves to explore and is very adventurous and active. Leo also loves the new-found freedom of his room, as we are having to house him in a petstore cage until we can build him a nice big nic condo. His favorite thing to do is dig in everything and do donuts around our legs He seems to be pretty chill, because the first night we brought him home we actually had to take shelter in the highschool gymnasium from a severe storm! He remained absolutly calm the entire time, even with the poor dog running around scared out of her wits!

I guess I’ll introduce my self a bit now I am an animal loving teen who wants to be a vet and pet parent;I live in the midwest but was born in the southwest. I enjoy drawing, humor and parodies, filming and acting, flowers, critters, etc. I want to give Leo the best care possible, and am very excited to be part of this group

If you wouldn’t mind, would someone help me out with submitting pictures? Sorry, I’m a bit of a newbie!

Welcome! You remind me of myself at your age, trying to convince my parents that a house rabbit would be a good addition (though you sound like you were more successful than I was!). I also wanted to be a vet…things have changed, though I still get to work with animals luckily!

I’ll let someone else guide you through the photo posting process, because I really haven’t posted many here.

He sounds like he really lucked out with your family!

Thanks so much! I feel honored  It’s been a fantastic experience so far, and it helps to have my twin sis in the same room to play second mommy to Leo lol! No amount of research I did could completely prepare me for the real deal, so it’s also a learning experience. It’s cool that you wanted to be a vet, and also cool that even though it didn’t turn out that way you are still passionate about animals. Thanks again for the welcome!
