  Hello! I’m Sam and Healy is my new-to-me bunny. I adopted him almost two weeks ago from a rabbit rescue. They said he is approximately 4 years old. They thought he was a dutch mix, I can see that. Healy is the first rabbit I’ve owned in several years. I’ve owned one and fostered a few rabbits in the past, but they were never the big deal that Healy is. This time I did a lot of research and realized that I could have a neutered and litter trained house rabbit. Cool!
  
  So far things have been rocky with getting Healy accustomed to his new home. He’s had issues with cage aggression and missing the litter box. I think I’ve sorted out the cage aggression, but this un-litter training he’s up to is just no good. I think I’ll put up another topic about that later.
  
  Anyway, Healy has a ‘bunny condo’ that I built with the info from bunnycondo.com. His door is usually open (used to be all the time before he forgot about his litter box) and he has access to 2 bunny-proofed rooms.
  
  I hope to learn a lot from this site and meet some fellow bunny lovers to share tips and such.

  Welcome. Healy is such an adorable boy. I’m glad you were able to adopt him and bring him into your home. It just takes some patience with the litter box training. When I brought Gabby home she did good the first few days and then started going in random spots. We got her spayed and it has really helped. With him being with you just 2 weeks he may be marking his territory still to let you know that your home is his now. Hopefully with time he’ll get much better.

  Welcome, and as an FYI, rabbits say “hello” by going nose to nose just like cats do. And the one that lowers its head first so that its chin touches the ground thinks they’re the boss. Needless to say, if we were to try and say hello like that to a rabbit, the rabbit would always win since they can get their nose closer to the ground than we could.

  Just a tip, if he’s missing the litter box but standing in it: I used to have the exact same one and one of my bunnies (who is probably smaller than yours) used to pee off the end of it all the time, a bigger and longer cat litter box pretty much solved the problem, so long as I don’t let it get too full of hay.

  Thanks everyone! I wish I could have responded sooner, but I just now got my internet working again. Update: I bought Healy a great big new litter box thanks to Kate Monster’s advise and I think the problem is solved. The issue wasn’t exactly that his butt hung over the edge while in the box. I think it was that he didn’t have to sit in the box to eat hay, but now he does, so he just poos while he munches on his hay now (from inside the box yay!).
