Hi everybody, name’s Adam and i just picked up two, almost 3 month old, Netherland Dwarfs yesterday!! They are soooo cute!! I had two of the same breed about 10 years ago, i was really young, and i def don’t remember them being this finicky and demanding.  I am going to stick with it, of course, but starting out it’s really tough.  I am going to try and post pictures but it’s been unsuccessful so far. They aren’t names either, still working on that. One is female and one is male. No plans on getting them fixed…yet!  But i will be posting in other areas b/c i am having some problems with these two and want to catch them early so they don’t become habits for life. I want to be able to let the run around whichever room i deem theirs, roommate moves out soon so that will be their room soon, i think.  But i need to know when i can do that. I want to fix the interior cage problems before i let them run around my bedroom.   But the male looks similar to a Dwarf Hotot with a little black on his back and the female, the chunker, is white with a cream mustache and cream on her back. They are both cute as he!!.

          Hi there

          Welcome to Binkybunny! What cuties!

I would like to mention that you will have to seperate them ASAP. Your male is at the age where he can impregnante the female and it is very difficult and expensive to deal with baby rabbits. I would recommend you finding a good vet off of rabbit.org to get them checked out and their spay and neuters scheduled. That is very important.

They may get along right now, as they are very young, but seperating them and getting them fixed helps other behaviors.

Please stay and ask more questions

How cute are they in their purple bed!!!

Welcome. I’m getting an idea of their size sitting there on the desk.

LOL ! Haha, welcome to rabbit slavedom.

I have to echo LoveChaChas advice. Do separate them otherwise you’re going to have more problems then what these two are currently presenting. Like 6-10 furry little “problems”. It’s hard to do it but separating will prevent pregnancy and often they can stress each other out and start fighting at this age. So it is better for them to be apart. They can be near each other, just make sure there is space between their habitats.

They are very cute! Good luck on keeping them separated until you get them speutered (fixed). And welcome to the BB forum!!
