Hello everyone. My name is Diana and I recently adopted my first pair of bonded bunnies. Alice is my white dwarf bunny and Hatter is my gray dwarf. This is my first time owning bunnies so I’m still in the learning stages. Thankfully, I have 2 very opinionated bunnies that are helping me learn as well as this forum.

I knew within 30 seconds that I was going to Adopt Alice and Hatter. I sat down on the floor at the bunny rescue and Hatter came right up to me, gave me a couple of sniffs and hopped into my lap. Alice raced around the pen marking it as her own before allowing me to pick her up. They easily won their way into my heart from that moment.

Alice is a very opinionated but clean bunny. She keeps her fur perfect and is very good with the litter box. However, I’ve discovered that she does not like being held. I’m hoping that she will warm up to me more as time goes on. Alice has taken a liking to my 18 year old kitty. He is a grumpy old man but he lets her do binkys over his head. I wish I could catch it on video. I laugh every time.

Hatter runs right up to me for love but Alice still seems very timid. I’ve had them for a little over a month now. Hatter will come running from where ever he is at the sound of a plastic bag being opened. He’s one smart bun! He gives bun kisses and is a sweetheart. His litter box habits are not as good as Alice’s but we’re working on improving them.

Hatter recently went through having molar spurs and the beginnings of GI Stasis. Thankfully, I was observant of his eating and potty habits otherwise I might not have caught it so soon. After almost 2 weeks, he’s back to eating his hay again. Yay! I clapped my hands in delight when I saw him noming on some hay yesterday.

Welcome! Hatter is adorable, but I have to admit that Alice is one of my favorite looking rabbits – she’s just beautiful! (I am partial to white uppy ears, but the blue eyes knock me out.)

Aww, they are very cute! Hatter looks so relaxed and confident! Alice’s eyes are so pretty!!! You must be very proud. Aren’t bunnies great?! They make you feel so happy.
Glad that Hatter got through his stasis and molar spurs ok. Good job at catching those problems!!!

My bun hates to picked up, like Alice. The only way I was able to win her over was to stay on the floor and let her come to me. It worked out really well, especially late at night, when she was more active. I got so many kisses and nose bumps from her. You might give that a shot with Alice! Just lay down on the floor and avoid picking her up or pulling her close. Some buns are a bit of a control freak haha.
Sounds like you are doing great with them!!! Im happy you adopted a pair!
                        Congrats and Welcome!!!

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome.

Huckleberry, thank you a bunch for the tip on getting Alice to warm up to me more. I’ll definitely give that a shot. She will come up into my lap for a second if I have a treat to offer and sometimes I can have head pets before she bounces off. I think you’re right, she is a control freak. lol! I adore her though. I adore and love both of them.

I’m so glad I was able to catch the problem with Hatter as well. He’s much more active and eating his hay again. Last night he woke me up by hopping onto my chest. I thought it was Alice at first. I’m glad I adopted a pair too. I think one bun would have been lonely. I have two cats but its not the same.
