Hello everyone. My name is Diana and I recently adopted my first pair of bonded bunnies. Alice is my white dwarf bunny and Hatter is my gray dwarf. This is my first time owning bunnies so I’m still in the learning stages. Thankfully, I have 2 very opinionated bunnies that are helping me learn as well as this forum.
I knew within 30 seconds that I was going to Adopt Alice and Hatter. I sat down on the floor at the bunny rescue and Hatter came right up to me, gave me a couple of sniffs and hopped into my lap. Alice raced around the pen marking it as her own before allowing me to pick her up. They easily won their way into my heart from that moment.
Alice is a very opinionated but clean bunny. She keeps her fur perfect and is very good with the litter box. However, I’ve discovered that she does not like being held. I’m hoping that she will warm up to me more as time goes on. Alice has taken a liking to my 18 year old kitty. He is a grumpy old man but he lets her do binkys over his head. I wish I could catch it on video. I laugh every time.
Hatter runs right up to me for love but Alice still seems very timid. I’ve had them for a little over a month now. Hatter will come running from where ever he is at the sound of a plastic bag being opened. He’s one smart bun! He gives bun kisses and is a sweetheart. His litter box habits are not as good as Alice’s but we’re working on improving them.
Hatter recently went through having molar spurs and the beginnings of GI Stasis. Thankfully, I was observant of his eating and potty habits otherwise I might not have caught it so soon. After almost 2 weeks, he’s back to eating his hay again. Yay! I clapped my hands in delight when I saw him noming on some hay yesterday.
