We are pretty sure my 13yodd is NOT allergic to rabbits (she’s severely allergic to dogs and cats), so we’re cautiously optimistic that we may be able to adopt a bonded pair before too long.  We’re going to spend some time at a local rabbit rescue and see how things go, just to make sure.

I will enjoy looking through the different posts, and I’m sure I’ll have more than a few questions for ya’ll.

Welcome! That will be a lucky couple of bunnies!

Just from my limited experience of owning 7, some from youngsters and others adopted as older buns, I would suggest checking out mature couples too, because you would know their personalities and they’re more mellow and laid back. My first, Pringles, was only a few weeks old when we got her, and she was such a raging terror the first two years someone else might have gotten rid of her. Her third year she began to mellow and now at four, she is actually almost a cuddle bun and very sensible. ( I NEVER thought I would use those words and Pringles in the same sentence!)

Welcome How nice of you to adopt a bonded pair

I would also like to add, some people are allergic to timothy hay, and mistake the allergy to being allergic to rabbits. If that is the case, there are lots of different types of hay out there for non allergic people (orchard, meadow, etc)

I also agree with an older pair. When I’ve gotten my buns as babies they do lots of bad things. Now that mine are older they’re better behaved. I also got Bun Bun as an older bun.
