        Dear everyone,

This is Kell and Jon.  We just adopted these two adorable bonded agouti buns!  Goober is our brown male agouti and Pearl is our white/gray female agouti.  They love papaya and bunny granola.  They are about seven and a half months old, bonded and so affectionate albeit a bit mischievous.    They are neutered and spayed.  Ahh, as I speak, Pearl just did a bunny flop.  Gosh, I love them so much.  So, Jon and I went to the HRS separately and found this pair.  I went and saw them and they were the only bunnies I took pictures of, then Jon went and found them and told me to come back with him to see if we worked out.  It just happened to be the same pair!  Two visits later, we got all of the food and hay and a new water and food bowl for the two and brought them home with us.  They already had gotten to know us and they just love playing around, they are so curious, they explore for most of the day and play with all of the toys we made/got for them.  Sorry, I just cannot help but gush.  I did not know that we would find these two so quickly.  Goober continues to rearrange everything on a day to day basis, I switch their habitat up everyday because they seem to love exploring and he goes and helps further while I am doing it; puts in his expertise so to say.  Pearl just sits by and then runs around when I am finished.  Pearl loves to flop when I am looking or brings a toy next to me so she can play and be pet at the same time.  So I will post a picture if I can paste it or attach it here or I will consult the forum.  Umm, I need to resize them to 500 instead of what they are.  So pictures will be put up when I figure out how to do that or Jon teaches me.  Who knew out of the over 400 pictures I have already in this 3 day span that I would not have them correctly sized?  Right now they have settled down and are comfortably laying in the corner where they have rooted up the towels so that they can have a head rest.  Anyway, we all say hello again and our buns are happy to get to know everyone as well.  They already love watching Vivian and Jack.  So hello and it is nice to be able to introduce Pearl and Goober!

Welcome, welcome! They sound absolutely wonderful and I’m so glad you are giving these sweet rabbits a second chance. I wish I could help you with the photosizing stuff – I’m terrible at this, but I can’t wait to see them when you figure it out.

I put my photos on flickr.com and then get the link and put on here to post pictures.

Your buns sound adorable. I’m glad they are feeling at home with you guys. My adopted bun Gabby come from a home where she was in a tiny pet store cage in the garage and came out of her shell when she could come out to play in the house.

Congratulations! That’s great that you got a bonded pair. I adopted my other pets, but I’ve never seen any bunnies in the shelters I’ve been to. Until coming to this site, I really thought it was uncommon for bunnies to end up in shelters. If I ever get another I’ll definitely adopt.

Regarding resizing pics, I use a free online resizer. It’s called picresize.com  It’s easy to use and you can do one photo at a time or several photos. If you do several they are put into a zip file.

Oh, and don’t worry about gushing. Bunnies are too cute and fun not to gush about them. Most of my conversations with my husband and mother are about my bunny!

Thank you guys, I will definitely check out those sites so I get some of the many pictures I have of them posted.  They are really beginning to blossom!  I finally got them to accept the other box under the smaller one and after exploring it, they have just been jumping all over it, climbing through the holes, and using it as a spring board to the other side of the cage.  I wonder if they thought I was trying to take it away?  I am not sure but now they can still play king of the hill (a favorite of theirs) as well as cuddle in the box with more room.  I think they liked knowing that they were the only two which could fit into the first box but now they have more room to splay out.  Thank you again!

OMG, you have a rabbit named Goober! HOW did he get his name?!
(Actually, I like the name Pearl, too.)

I have to admit that these names are really due to Jon taking what I said in a different direction than they were meant.  Goober is just a name that Jon fell in love with and it happens to fit this brown agouti holland lop perfectly!  If his name was not Goober, it would have to be Mischief!  Pearl was taken from the fact that I mistook the type of coat that the siennub have.  I thought they were smoke pearls and it turns out that they were agoutis.  Well, Pearl fits our gray agouti holland lop perfectly as well.  She is just as unexpected as a pearl, and bigger than one would think grains of sand to become, she is cultured it would seem more than Goober and she tries to always be dignified, except for when she ninja poos which is her way of getting Goober in trouble.  She always has an ear tilted to one side and about halfway up…then she jumps to higher ground and does a bunny flop… I think she listens on intently waiting to see if we are fooled or not.  I just adore these characters, and trust me, our siennub are just full of comedic humor!

Their names when we adopted them were Cyclone and Thunderstorm.  If we had known before we had settled on names, we would have kept those because they are acceptable and fit well, Goober sometimes stirs things up and can run super fast so Cyclone would have worked okay.  Pearl looks like she has a nimbus cloud for a coat so thunderstorm could work but we just think that they love these names as well.  They know them already even if they do not feel like coming when called., they look up at us and might ignore us otherwise when we talk, although they do understand words like up and treat and no, you cannot have more.  They try so hard to get seconds on treats or the high fat content pellets which there are a few of in the normal pellet mix that we feed them beside their second cut timothy hay and greens.

Anyway, this is how they got their names!  I am going to upload pictures tomorrow!
