I am new to the rabbit world. I have a almost 7 month old English Spot named Momo. She is very spoiled and very much a brat! Her best friend is one of our cats, a 15 lb cat and she beats him up!  My husband and I own the rabbit, a dog (boxer/lab) 5 cats, and reptiles. We hail from the Detroit area of Michigan and I am here to learn what I can about rabbits, and meet other rabbit owners. BTW Momo is our first bun.

Yes, just got spayed on Friday actually. The picture I posted was taken yesterday post spay. She is also shedding. The vet said that hopefully the spay will cut down on her territorial pooping issue. She pees in her litter box probably 95% of the time, but the poop… we are still working on it. I keep tossing the pellets in her box, and have hay there for her. Just taking her sweet time figuring it out.

Just like a rabbit, doing things in their own time At least their poop is dry and easily cleaned up

Thank you! She has the face of an angle for sure. She is not destructive and so far the only thing she has obliterated was a Nintendo DS cord, and that happened in the blink of an eye. Thankfully it was not plugged in. Momo instead is very curious and mischievous. She likes to poke around and go where she is not supposed to and when I shoo her out, she kicks her feet back at me and shakes her ears as she runs off. Then she hops around like a nutter. She also LOOOVES to throw things: Her bed, boxes, water bottle, hay, hay rack, socks… you get the idea.

Ginju, don’t worry! Before Peppy got spayed I was worried to death that she would lose her crazy affection for me, that she would become lazy, etc. But to be honest, I haven’t seen any big changes like I was afraid. Well maybe I did – she’s a lot easier to handle now! My Peppy girl is every bit the affectionate and crazy bunny she used to be .

Gabby’s spay wasn’t the ordeal I thought it might be. She came through just fine and after a few quiet days she is back to her binkying hard self.

Same with Momo. I was worried at first, being as how this is my first rabbit. I dropped her off at 9 in the morning. By 2:30 I got a call saying she was up and eating and ready to come home. The meds they sent home were easy enough with my husband and I working together. A few quiet days in her cage until the stitches healed some. Now 1 1/2 weeks later she is back to her normal self. Stitches healing nicely and the fur is growing back on her tummy.
