Hi, my name is Charcoal. I’m not sure what I am, but my mom says I look like a chinchilla rabbit. I think I’m about 6 weeks now. My mom bought me from the pet store when I was about 3 weeks old. I wasn’t really sure what she saw in me, because everyone thought I looked like a big rat among my white and cream colored siblings.

I was really nervous at first because she was really big like a bear (oops, don’t tell her that!); but then she was really gentle and talked to me in soft mellow tones. I missed my real mom and my siblings my first few days, but my human mom (I think the other humans call her Karla) was really nice and let me sleep with her, she feels so warm. But I get scared when she starts to snore, then I realize it’s her I just go back to sleep.

I like it when she lets me nap snuggled in her arm or her lap while she’s tapping on a weird looking thing she calls a computer, she says she’s reading on how to take care of me; so I lick her to say I’m doing just fine.

She’s a bit of an OC, I saw her become paranoid once when I had a poopy butt. It’s difficult to raise rabbits in the Philippines, the weather is pretty humid and rabbit supplies are not easy to come by, but she makes up for it by making sure I get ice bottles to lean on and fresh grass to munch on. She makes sure I take my vitamins every day.

I don’t know what else to tell you about myself and my mom. I’m just a contented bunny who likes to sleep and lazy up all day!

        Bunny kisses!

        Charcoal

PS: Don’t tell mom, but Garfield really annoys me.

LOL – very cute. He is growing up fast isn’t he. Do you think Charcoal is a male for certain?

AWWW! The baby pictures are too adorable. I think his ears are so long and beautiful in the picture where he’s a bit older too

You know what, I’m not so sure with the gender either. I just base it on what the pet store attendant told me that he was male. I read online that sexing a bunny is a bit difficult when they’re still a few weeks old. Only when you can see the testicles you can see the difference, give it a few months more. This is the best shot I can get since Charcoal would try to fidget, camera’s not cooperating for macro shots.

                      What do you think?

I researched on “sexing a bunny” and found very helpful sites. Based on the photos and descriptions (O and I), it seems that my bunny is a girl… I apologized to her ‘coz the entire time I would call her “my bunny boy” or “babbit boy”…  Come to think of it, she acts like a sweet little girl, I’m not sure if boy bunnies act as docile as the girls when they’re young… and while I was browsing thru some of her pics before I knew my bun is a girl, I saw this one:

I was about to refill her water feeder when I saw her napping like this. LOL!

                        Front paws crossed! Diva much?

Just a few minutes ago, tied a bow on her ear let her scurry around my bed.  This is the best shot I got since she zips thru so fast:

“Mom, don’t take my picture! This is embarrassing!”

Sigh… back then she was a nervous itsybitsy bunny… now she’s a big girl… time flies so fast.

Hahaha, she is getting so big!

It is really hard to tell based on personality if your bunny is a girl. My bunny isn’t docile at all… she likes to bump my butt for attention, stomp to give pets, honks for attention and will speed right to me for pets

                          Ah, I love Charcoal!!!!!

Just wanted to share these pics…

Clockwise: 1) Seductive bunny pose with pink bow. 2) Loving her new food dish. 3) Mommy’s lil’ baby doll.

She’s now twice the size the day I got her.
