My name is Lauren and I’ve been using this forum for awhile now as a newish-bunny owner, and I figured I’d finally join! I have two lop bunnies, both boys, and both very cute in their own ways! The first bun I got was brown Mini Lop adopted from the Oakland Animal shelter here in California, now named Tuna, he is around 2 years old and isn’t very fond of humans to put it frankly, which is understandable considering he had been through 3 different shelters/rescues for almost a year! And he certainly wasn’t the friendliest bunny at the shelter, but he was the cutest, and I’ve learned to love his Eeyore-esque ways! (which is accentuated with the lop ears!) My second bun was a spontaneous rescue when a couple of kids were selling a little bun (who looked just like my Tuna) as a “pet or snake food” for $5. He is now named Ham and is about 7 monthes old, probably a Holland Lop since he’s only 2 lbs. and unlike Tuna he is a very confident, outgoing rabbit who loves to poop,  run, and jump all over me (he is currently jumping on my laptop and deleting everything I write!) . I also have a Golden Retriever who’s in her golden years, a Bernese Mountain Dog who loves to watch Ham run and binky, and a cat who could care less!

The pictures below are of Ham and Tuna, Tuna being the bigger one and Ham being the smaller one (other then size and age they are almost identical!)

        Look forward to contributing!

Lauren(and as you can see from the last two pictures, usually Ham!)

My Peppy also likes to crawl all over the keyboard and “type” too…I think it’s hilarious!

I love the names and they are so cute. Haha, Tuna has big tree stumps for feet in the third picture. I love it!

They are so adorable. I love their little faces. My Gabby just learned last night how to sit and run across mama’s laptop computer. The cat is teaching her bad habits.

Thank you for all the welcomes! I just redesigned Ham’s new cage to be easier to clean (since he is one hard bun to litterbox train!) and to give him more space to run, play, and jump since he is usually in his cage while I am at work and at school. I thought I’d share some pictures in case there is anything I may have missed or any suggestions! By now I’ve probably made around 10 different NIC cages to figure out what works best in my room, and so far I’ve decided that Ham needs a big cage since he is a very active bunny, and since Tuna doesn’t really like to jump, run, or exercise (he is more of a flopper and eater) and is very well behave in terms of respecting the house and furniture, Tuna gets free range and basically has a little station for eating, pooping, and sleeping. I also have a couple of questions about health of buns and other people’s experiences. Ham was neutered a little over a week ago, but he still seems to be very humpy and extremely territorial (in regards to scent marking and pooping more so then lunging) and is still nipping in order to mount, and I was wondering if this kind of attitude goes away after a month or if some bunnies are always like this. I have also noticed that Tuna has a runny eye, an eye that was flushed abouth two monthes ago, but seems to have come back. The vet flushed his eye, said his teeth looked good and that they probably weren’t the problem, and his eye seemed to have gotten better with the prescribed eye medication within days. I will be taking him to a new vet this time, and was wondering if this could be something that is a constant problem, or if it has something to do with the little I’m using or dusty hay. Has anyone else experienced frequent runny eyes with their buns? Oh, and here are the pictures of the new condo, and some of Tuna, just cuz

Probably should have taken the pics of the new condo before Ham pooped everywhere!

Adorable pics! I know that feeling at having to rebuild condos for the young ones.
I’ve not used them before but recenty built one and it’s already be done over 3 times.

Regarding Tuna’s eye, it could well be just an environmental thing. Sometimes they get blocked ducts also. For teeth, you’d probably need an x-ray done rather then just a visual.
It’s often the root responsible for the runny eye if it is related to dental.

Regarding Ham’s neuter, I’d say you’d notice some improvement in the coming weeks. Some rabbits worsen straight after neuter then once the hormones deplete and level out,
there behaviour settles. That said though, it could just be him being a bunny teenager and not all due to hormones…. so be prepared. lol
