I introduce to you the newest member of our household, a mini rex baby boy (11 wks I believe – I have to do the math) named B…..
His name is really Banner but I’m not really a fan, so I am looking for suggestions for other B names!
He met Merry this afternoon and it went surprisingly well. At first they ignored each other, then both got curious. Foster mom moved Merry away when she got too close – after which Merry thumped. At first we thought she was thumping at the boy, but then figured out she was thumping at FM! She wanted to check him out – they got to the point where it looked like baby was going to start licking her (go figure!) but just to be safe we didn’t let that happen. It took place in a pen with a divider in it.
If she didn’t like the boy I would have gone with the monstrously enormous other bunny, but she seemed to like (tolerate) him! He’s in a big cage in a pen next to hers and will be in there until he’s fixed, which should be soon. Apparently he’s starting to show lol. Merry’s going to stay in her pen during the day and at night (that’s going to be a treat :/) but will be able to hang out in her normal spot after dinner. FM said that so long as the door is closed and he can’t see what she’s doing, it’d be fine.
Some background on the boy – he was brought to FM shortly after being born along with his mother and two sisters – all severly malnourished. He used to be called Baldy because he was the worst of them – they had all lost a lot of hair. He’s still got a few spots that need to grow in, but OMG his fur is sooooooo soft!!!!!!
FM will take care of the whole chop-chop process – and then let the dates begin!

He’s turning out to be (mostly) a sweet little guy. But he’s a digger! He’s definitely a mini-rex – both parents were. He came from a rescued litter where the former owner bought two “cute girl bunnies” from a petstore… apparently the father was smaller than the mother, who is about 4.5#.
So far B…… is 2.64.

LOL these are all great suggestions… but think after what he did this morning I’ve found his name – Bouncer!
I have him in a cage in a temp – key word is temp – NIC grid pen. He’s been running around like a little madman and doing binkies like crazy. (yay) I turned around to go get some new hay for Merry when I hear a crash boom!!! He tried to jump over the grids – of course, right at the one spot where I was having trouble getting them to all attach – luckily the one grid he had landed on a basket full of fabric that was right outside of it. All of this while still chewing some hey.
Oy, little boys!
