Hi everyone! I’m Amanda and I’m a college student studying graphic design! I’m an avid animal lover, reader, Google hunting extraordinaire  blonde who has developed a serious thing for rabbits. My boyfriend had a dutchie named Humper (long story) and I fell in love with him because of how sweet he was. He died at the age of 7. And so me and the bf went on a quest to find new ones when he felt like he was ready. We found a friend who had 2 mini lops that had just had kits. So we bring home Hershall and Bunnyta (chocolate buck and broken blue doe) when they were about 6 weeks old and I decided to feverishly search for information. We learned they were too young so we took them back for 2 weeks. After we got them back, it was love. Unfortunately, they got sick and died just this December… they were only 7 months old and we have no idea what happened. I still am really upset over it but I brought home someone to heal my heart – Fiver. She’s a broken agouti doe that’s about 3 months old now. And we’re slowly bonding. She’s super shy – not like Bunnyta and Hershall at all. We now have a lionhead, Dumper, who is mean , Fiver, and a 4 month old Flemmie named Black Beauty who is kind of a family bun. Anyways here’s some pictures of Dumper, Hershall, Bunnyta, Beauty, and Fiver<3

Alrighty the pics aren’t showing up for some reason, I did the attachments and photobucket, what’s up?

          Welcome

Do you have plans to spay/neuter your bunnies? It helps a ton with litter training, aggression, the constant humping of things and can remove the scare of uterine cancer in the females, of which there is an 80-85% chance of them getting by age 4. So I hope you plan on doing so!

So sorry for the loss of the baby buns Sometimes bunnies are just born with illnesses that we can’t control. Feel free to ask any questions here that you can think of.

And if you are using the built in pic attachment thing here, if it isn’t working, it may be a glitch in the updates we are going through here.

            Welcome!
So sorry to hear about the loss of the babies, and your bf’s bunny. I too would definitely recommend spaying and neutering, especial if you would like to get your buns bonded! Good luck, and if you can’t get them to upload, try just posting a link to the pictures! That’s what I have to do all the time.

Welcome. I’m so sorry to hear about the baby bunnies. (((Binky free Babies!)))

So many things can go wrong with babies, especially if they get a parasite called coccidia (COMMON in buns), or if they are weaned too early. My best advice is to get your new bun into the vet for a thorough exam and fecal test as soon as you can. Any problems pottying (including poopy butt or “diarrhea”), not eating, listlessness, or a change in their normal behavior require a vet visit.

Thanks for the welcome!! And yes, I do plan on getting Fiver spayed. I can’t really control what the other buns do because they aren’t mine, but Fiver is getting spayed over the summer when I can spend more time with her.
I think our babies were weaned too early, which kills me because I should have known better ( I don’t know when Fiver was weaned but hopefully she’ll have a more fulfilling life.
I’ll try to put pictures up soon when it works for me!
