I’ve noticed, by looking through pictures and what not, that my rabbit is a good deal, er… larger… than most.

In fact, he’s overweight x__X But even if he fit the healthy rabbit profile (not quite so round! xD) I still think he’d be rather large.

        Tank weighs 9 pounds.

How much do your rabbits weigh? (: Just curious.

Monkey is 1.5 pounds, Smudge is close to 3 pounds, and Moosie is just shy of 4 pounds

My rabbit Mr. Bunny weighs somewhere between 6.5 and 7 pounds, although he is a little overweight (which I’m working on). My other rabbit, Ms. Rabbit, weighs just under 3.5 pounds.

They must be so small! I can’t even imagine O__O Can you pick them up in one hand?

I can almost hold Ms. Rabbit in 2 hands when she’s crouched up, and I have small hands, so I’m sure it’s possible to do with a 1.5 pound bunny.

Myyy goodness. I definitely have to get both arms around Tank and hold him against my chest. My hands alone don’t cut it xD

When I’m carrying around Ms. Rabbit, I usually just wrap my arm around her back/butt and put my hand around her chest. It’s great to have one hand free while carrying around a bunny.

nikka is 6.5 pounds and rorschach is 7 lol. I’ve been limiting their pellets because I don’t want them to be overweight… but they inherited my appetite and they eat everything and anything!

Meadow is just under 4 pounds, Max is just over 5.

On the rare occasion I have someone “new” over to my house, they are generally shocked by how LARGE my rabbits are. I think people have been conditioned to only view rabbits as teeny, tiny, puffy babies that never exceed a pound. When faced with a completely average rabbit, they think it’s HUGE! I have to tell them that my guys are on the smaller end…

Otto is 4lbs and Hannah is 5.5lbs.

Beka, I’ve noticed people are always surprised by Hannah’s size – maybe it’s because they were conditioned to Otto’s size first, but they always comment on how huge she is! I always explain that 5.5lbs is pretty average and that there are much larger buns out there.

Merry’s an overweight 3.8lbs – the vet wants her at 3.2. Although, that was in October so maybe she’s lost weight. It just seems so odd that 3.8 is overweight!

Well 3.8 is almost 3.9, which is a smidge close to 4 pds, which would freak out your vet, so at 3.2 your bun would be so close to 3.1, which is just a fur shake away from 3.0, which would please your vet =p lol

I am the opposite of Beka and Elrohwen’s friends.

Whenever I see a rabbit that is about 5 pounds, I think it is so small because I am used to my porker! <3! But I've read that average is actually about 6 pounds for a rabbit–I'll assume that leaves outliers out of the equation, such as the flemies.

Fluffy, what type of rabbit is Monkey? I knew he was small, but now 1.5lbs small!

Smokey is 3lbs : ) She had a weight problem last year because she was so cranky without pellets and I just gave into her. I also found out there was corn in the pellets and she loves corn like we love candy/chocolate, so she was very pudgy. Now that’s she’s on 1/4 a cup or less of the right type of pellets a day with unlimited hay, she has dropped the weight : )
