How long have you had this? Maybe it is caused by an infection and will pass.
I get tinnitus very sporadically and it doesn’t last long enough to send me too crazy. I’m hoping it won’t become more frequent. Usually it’s a very high pitch and I often get an ear pressure change with it. I’m the same too, I’ve not abused my hearing.
I have vague recollection that it can be tied up with dental and sinus health sometimes.
I remember looking after elderly persons who had this. One lady used to sing constantly because it distracted her from the noises in her head.
Some foods can trigger it also. Diets high in salicylates (some veggies and fruit) or meds containing this, like asprin, can induce tinnitus. They can also cause super sensitivity to noise. I don’t know if additives can contribute but I wouldn’t be surprised. At least if it was caused by diet, you can make changes.
That’s really interesting what Elrohwen said about mold!
I hope yours is temporary and you can find something to help whilst you have it.
