I’ve browsed this forum for advice before, but finally decided to join and contribute
My bunny story:
While I was in college in 2008, my family back home decided to get a chocolate Dutch, and he stole all of our hearts with his silly ways. Unfortunately, we found the poor bun dead outside one morning this summer; while out for his daily few hours of exercise in the backyard, our bunny had an unfortunate run-in with the neighbor’s dog, who had dug under the fence. We were heartbroken, but he taught us how wonderful house bunnies are to have.
Though it was a hard decision, my family has just adopted a new little girl, a black otter-patterned Netherland dwarf. She’s a little shy, but I’m hoping she’ll come around…we’re also looking in the local rabbit rescue networks to see if we can get her a friend.
I’ve also raised a very affectionate yet mischievous blue Dutch girl with my boyfriend in our apartment together, but am unfortunately now bunny-less now that I’ve moved away to medical school. If I can find a good pet-friendly apartment, I will definitely be adopting another bunny and bringing him/her into my life!
Though it seems like it’s only been two short years since my first rabbit, I’ve been completely converted, and can’t imagine not having more lagomorph friends in the future
