I’ve browsed this forum for advice before, but finally decided to join and contribute

        My bunny story:

While I was in college in 2008, my family back home decided to get a chocolate Dutch, and he stole all of our hearts with his silly ways.  Unfortunately, we found the poor bun dead outside one morning this summer; while out for his daily few hours of exercise in the backyard, our bunny had an unfortunate run-in with the neighbor’s dog, who had dug under the fence.  We were heartbroken, but he taught us how wonderful house bunnies are to have.

Though it was a hard decision, my family has just adopted a new little girl, a black otter-patterned Netherland dwarf. She’s a little shy, but I’m hoping she’ll come around…we’re also looking in the local rabbit rescue networks to see if we can get her a friend.

I’ve also raised a very affectionate yet mischievous blue Dutch girl with my boyfriend in our apartment together, but am unfortunately now bunny-less now that I’ve moved away to medical school.  If I can find a good pet-friendly apartment, I will definitely be adopting another bunny and bringing him/her into my life!

Though it seems like it’s only been two short years since my first rabbit, I’ve been completely converted, and can’t imagine not having more lagomorph friends in the future

What beautiful dutch babies! Congrats on medical school! My boyfriend and I are currently in law school and Ringo helps keep us sane! Bunnies really are the best pets anyone could ever ask for!

Does little girl have a name? She is the same breed and COLOR of my Chacha bun

Is she spayed yet? I would advise on getting her spayed if shse hasn’t yet..

My new girlie doesn’t have a name yet…we’ve only had her since Wednesday and we’re still playing around with names to try to find the perfect one to describe her.  We named the first bunny boy Tammo after the Redwall book series character, and the girl Dutch is named Peppy, after the grey hare character in the video game Starfox…though we realized that the name is also perfect for her bright personality

Also, the girlie’s not spayed yet, but that’s definitely on the to-do list as well.

Brittany, our buns do look very much alike! I love the picture in your sig, (s)he looks so silly!

Hehe, well, she may turn into a BIG DIVA like mine has.. Oh my. I get thumps if I don’t pay attention to her. Mine is a girl. She is the only one that is allowed to boss me around, lol. She does it very well!

Let us know when you find a name for her
