So a little bit about me and Chloe.
I was with my family walking around this little street side market, bored out of my mind. I ended up walking towards the back and saw a lady selling fruit, but under the table was a cage with a really poor looking bunny. The cage was way to small, she had no room to move, and her water was filthy, no food, and it was WAY to hot for the poor thing to be outside! I really wanted to save this little bunny but I had asked the lady if she was for sale and she said yes, for $90. I only had $12. The lady said that if she couldn’t sell the bunny then she’d just sell it to some meat market place by morning.
That night I called my friend and told him of this little issue, he suggested we rabbit nap her. I willingly agreed. He had a dog pen we could use as a cage until we could get to the pet store the following morning.
So I got out of the house with out being noticed and we got in his car and hightailed it to the market. The lady’s booth was set up and that poor bunny was still there! I grabbed the cage and ran for my life (as well as the bun’s) It took us 15 mins to get home.
That night we found out just what we got ourselves into.
The bunny, Chloe, hated people, was scared, and lunged at out hands every time we got near her. She tipped over her food, kicked at the cage and made grunting sounds.
She was a little monster! But I put up with her kicking and biting. And slowly showed her that people could be her friends. It took three months, and ALOT of band-aids, but I did it! She trusted me! And I loved her.
Chloe is still weary of new people, but she’s getting better.
So that’s my bunny napping story
If I could go back and do it again, I would! My mom still think’s I bought her, hehe!
