I look forward to learning about rabbits and the family members that Binky Bunny members have.   All of our family members are indoor buns.  Our first girl was adopted from the local shelter in 2003, unwanted as the young person preferred a cat instead of the white rex rabbit who could’ve been an easter impulse purchase.   She came to our hearts after I decided to step back from active wildlife rehabilitation with eastern cottontails.   Our eldest n/male is almost 11 now, and he came from the shelter at age 4.    We have a labor-of-love rescue in s.e. Wisconsin which my husband and I are actively involved in, and it’s very rewarding to help euthanization list or jeopardized rabbits find a lifelong devoted home.   Three abandoned rabbits on the streets of a semi-industrial and residential neighborhood whom my husband captured in winter, surprised us with litters.   Two litters!   Hence, our rescue hands became involved.  ~ I lurk as time avails for rescue related stories (which adds inspiration) and I created a Soulmate Beginnings thread to show some of the photos that adopters have sent in.   Formerly a volunteer at a shelter (beginning in 2003), and fosterer, and now bestowing care and a devoted mom to 2 less-abled girls with hind limb disabilities.  With special needs family members too!  Hope I can learn the workings of this forum and be able to contribute as the years go by.    Kindest,  beelermom (Julie) from WI

A warm welcome from me too! I love white rexes! They are the best. I have a white mini rex.

Looking forward to see you in the forums!

Thank you all for the warm welcome. Makes me feel at home. Our rescue is located in Waukesha with a network of foster homes. You can google on soulmate rabbit rescue. I hope the stories and photos at the Soulmate Beginnings link (or Valentine Index) will bring smiles. With rescue, we turn away many that aren’t able to find a foster berth, and that can cause your heart to sink. Everyone, kindly realize how lucky your bun family is! Time is limited these days yet I desire to learn more about the binkybunny forum and contribute. Thanks again for the welcomes and caring vibes.

Again, thank you for making me feel welcomed, and all the good vibes about our rescue efforts. Your kindness and verbal comments are super inspiring. Lately it’s been a busy time with numerous requests to help innocent rabbits needing lifelong devoted homes. I haven’t had time to come back and lurk about…

mocha200, I authorize all intakes for SRR, oversee their welfare (schedule vet visits, etc.) and the future homes they’ll transition to. Communicate with prospective adopters. We’re not a public “shelter” building. We’re private and home-based. Yes, I run the rescue endeavor and private organization. Hope that answers your Q. My husband and I care for several special needs & sanctuary kids and those we can foster – in addition to the foster families. ‘Tis a full-time 24/7 labor-of-love for me. Before we created SRR, I never fathomed the amount of rabbits who need devoted homes aside from those I knew who were euthanized at the local shelter. I can totally relate to those in rescue shoes ~
