Hello! I’ve referred to this forum a few times in the past and recently realized that I should really just register and participate in the good bunny online world.
I currently have two rabbits, Beaumomt Wilshire (M) and Parsnip (F), roughly two years old. I obtained them from the Seattle Animal Shelter about two months ago. Apparently they were already bonded and running wild in a field behind a Buddhist temple. I’d like to think they are zen bunnies. Both were s/n a week before I got them.
Beaumont is very friendly and somewhat protective of Parsnip. At first I assumed Parsnip was shy but as I’m getting to know her better I’m realizing that she’s just particular and spoiled by Beaumont. She gets flustered kind of easily but they both like to be out and about when people are around. They are deceivingly perfect at vet visits….
I am having fun teaching them how to be house bunnies and just in the last couple weeks I think they are both realizing that they like to be pet.
My boyfriend and I just moved in with each other and the Bunns now have two new cat friends. It has been quite a bit of fun for everyone. Mostly the cats are confused and the bunnies just want to be friends and touch noses. (cute!)
A couple years ago my ex husband bought me a bunny as a present. That bunny got me through an affair and a divorce. Unfortunately the people who owned him previously didn’t take very good care of him and about eight months into our friendship he died from gastrointestinal blockage. He was a darling rabbit and I miss him all the time but I am so grateful for the time I had with him and the feeling that my life would now be incomplete without a house bunny.
Non-bunnie related, I’m 24 and living in Seattle. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. I’ll be going back to school in the fall to work towards acquiring a degree in Early Childhood Education. My b/f and I cook every night together and are big believers in eating local, fresh foods (the bunnies definitely benefit from the farmshare we receive once a week!).
I love poetry, rainy weather, artsy-crafts, reading, and Love.
I’m very excited to talk to other bunn-heads too!
The first week I had them they pooped everywhere. Mini rexes::
