Welcome! I did read in your other thread you have been researching rabbits as a pet. That’s great your looking into things so thoroughly! You don;t have to have a house rabbit to be part of this community, others also have become members that are looking to have a rabbit in the future. I expect you can learn alot from the dedicated bunny people on here. Also, it’s fun and a good place for a “bunny fix”. Enjoy!

It’s a good thing to do a lot of research. I wish more people would do so. I think sometimes it comes as a huge surprise to new bunny owners that bunnies should be neutered and that it costs a lot of money. Also, it is a good idea to think how you will meet the bunny’s needs: bunnies have a strong social need – will you have two or do you think you can fulfill the need for another rabbit, which requires a lot of hours with the bunny? Will it be free-roaming in your room or do you plan to make a pen like a lot of people have made in here? Perhaps think about saving up already now so you can afford going to the vet once in a while and buy things for the bunny (take a look on the page about costs of bunnies). It is so sad to read posts where people for some reason cannot afford to go to a vet although the bunny is ill.
Oh, and read up on litter training

Regarding your dog then I know a lot of books on clicker training actually deals with introducing the dog to other animals, so read up on that as well.

I have a dog who is a mutt, and I am pretty sure one of the breeds is some sort of blood-thirsty, small animal eating breed LOL. She is absolutely on the hunt all the time! So, what I do, is put her away when I have my buns out. The problem is that it is far too risky to train her. I have had a bad accident with her and a pet rat which I will not get into here. After that I decided to train her..to no avail. So for her sanity and my rabbits well-being I put her up in my room while the bunnies are out. I have absolutely no doubt that an animal can be trained, even when they are older. Clicker training works very well, and with lots of rewards I am sure your little beagle will learn to at least tolerate your rabbits. Don’t give up hope! :o)
