I’m going to be putting in some fake wood flooring, it looks like wood, feels like wood…but it’s like….linoleum! Apparently it’s pretty easy to put down, my mom and I can do it ourselves. So I’ve been thinking of possibly taking down my fishtank. If I had another overflowing accident the water can’t hurt the lino…which is why I am “allowed” to put it in my room as well. The only carpet left in the house is my room, the guest room, and my brothers room. The guest rooms carpet still looks new…my brother and I’s ….holy moly it’s bad. I had to buy that throw carpet just so I didn’t have to look at it anymore. I am tempted just to take the tank down so I can have more room in my bedroom and not have to deal with it anymore. But…I’ve never not had an aquarium. I’m going to have to drain it down to move it and can give it a really good clean if I want to set it back up but I am not sure I want to. It’s so much work and the filters are expensive. I am afraid that if I put it in storage it will dry out and leak. I have never resealed a fish tank before and I don’t want anything bad happen to my tank, it’s a perfect reef tank when I get around to that again and I spent  500$ on it…I don’t want it to crack or something. So basically I can take it down, much less work for me, but risk it drying out – or keep it up and deal with it still. Hm.

Lol I just had to move my huge tanks and contemplated not putting them back up and giving my fish away but I couldn’t part with them. So up they went it took 3 hours to fill them all back up but I love my fishes lol.

I love that flooring it looks like wood but isn’t as hard as hardwood flooring to clean and keep scratch free. I just went and bought a ton of it for the rabbit room and my bedroom since the carpet and lino in those rooms are horrible looking.

Yeah I have one adult oscar in it. I don’t want to part with it really, I think I was just thinking out loud. It’s just a lot of upkeep and it’s messy. Large fish require much more. Just the idea of more room and maybe some potted plants with parsley in them in that area made me swoon on the idea lol.

I have to say, although Shimmer passed under very sad circumstances and I grieved his loss, I am SOOOOO glad I don’t have to clean that tank anymore or hear the filter making noise all night. It was way too much work for one old feeder goldfish and we didn’t want to get more fish.
Got enough to deal with caring for two cranky old housecats, one independent and obnoxious outdoor cat, three disapproving bunnies and one very clingy Yorkshire Terrier cross. 0_o How do I get myself into these things??
Back on topic, our carpet in our house is loathsome! >.< It's in bits and pieces still in the converted den (once the garage) and the front room carpets are so dirty I can't even get the shop vac to clean six feet worth without it choking to death. I would love to replace all our carpet with linoleum and just have throw rugs for where we need a little foot traffic comfort.

I like fish, but they are a lot of work for not a lot of reward, in my opinion. I think if you could arrange for another home for your fish, I would consider it.
