Excellent thread, as always, Jerz! *clinks many glasses*
If you don’t mind, I will ditto your previous statements, especially to Jennifer for this enjoyable and educational site. Long Live BB.com!
I have to first thank my bunnies for coming into my life two years ago, or I would not know any of you wonderful people! I don’t usually feel that friendships can be made to last online, but you have all proved me wrong. So many of you are so dear to me and it seems with each passing day I find more of you to add to my online family. I don’t know who I’m gathering more of, bunnies or friends! ^_^ My ‘people warren’ is here, and on this board I feel safe and welcomed. Thank you all.
My year has been nothing short of tumultuous. Mostly in the animal department. Two aged dogs with GDV in the spring and mad dashes to get them to the vet in time to save their lives with two major surgeries. Of course dear Taiku, the younger, who recently passed due to other gastric complications, and who this year doesn’t have to be scared by the neighbor’s fireworks displays (that in itself is both a sad and happy event)…and with my bunnies, Mimzy-still fighting either allergies or some mysterious illness that causes him to sneeze and yet in these last months he is becoming more of a cuddle bun than ever he was before…my cat, Tooey, who is now doing quite well (and the other cats too) after some nasty stomach problems as well.
My son going to college for his first semester was a huge change. I never really knew what insomnia was until this September. He goes back about mid-January, but I got a Go phone for Xmas this year, so now I can bug him with text messages and such. ^_^
I’ve tried very hard to adopt a more patient philosophy with life. Sadly I don’t always succeed, but that’s part of the joys and sorrows of being human. And in those joys and sorrows of all of you here, I hope I have shared a bit of comfort, helped you to laugh, held you while you cried, empathized with similar experiences we’ve had even with miles between us and maybe never seeing each other’s faces…and I hope to continue to live life beside you all in a glorious and shining 2010!
Congratulations to all of you with your various accomplishments! It’s great when we find something we enjoy doing, and can do it well to the benefit of ourselves and those around us. And even in those times when something we want to dedicate ourselves to doesn’t work out, it means that (imo) God has a higher purpose for us, and in His good time He will let us know what it is. May His hand gently guide us through our futures and may we not argue too strongly with Him when a signpost says, “Go this way” and we want to take the other road.
And my goodness, we’ve made it through the first decade of the new century! One down, nine left to go! lolz…
God bless you all and bring you peace and happiness this new year. A Sante! (a French toast to good health and long life)
