Oh well it’s my last rabbits spay this Saturday, I am glad it is ending as it is very tiring, I will keep you all updated and with pictures of course.
Don’t know why he didn’t like it, because it smell like bananas.
It is good that they are all getting along; maybe for all the hard work I put in they are repaying me.

aww they are all so cute! glad its going well for you keep us updated ![]()
Yay – I know you will feel much better when you have them all altered. Bad Peanut for not wanting his banana flavored medicine LOL :~)
i know, it is better to get it out the way, hopscotch hasnt had his yet as he is still about a month away from the recommended age so i get nervous everytime i think about it :s
i don’t know much about rabbit breeds. but do they possibly have some lop in them? their ears are all a little crooked. my rabbits holds her ears straight up. theirs seem to be curving a bit…
this is an odd question but do rabbits become lops.. as in are all rabbits born with up ears and they drop eventually or if its born up ears it will always be up ears, and vice versa, reason i ask is hopscotch is meant to be a lop, thats what i was told when i bought him but clearly he isnt at the moment however his right ear seems to be dropping and i see him constantly flicking it back up into an upright position as it drops and covers his eye (its so cute
) so any ideas anyone?

this is from all experts. take it with a grain of salt b/c they’ve been wrong in the past, but i think this is pretty accurate re: lop breeds.
thanks! i kind of dont want him to lop as he is soo cute how he is… but i guess if he was a lop when i got him i would be saying the same thing lol
yeah, i know what you mean… i couldn’t imagine Mead being a lop, i love her stick straight ears so much! since he’s obviously a mix breed, half being lionhead, he may not lop at all or his ears may just be a bit crooked.
sorry about the thread hijacking Lisa, your babies are, as always, lovely. you really did luck out that they’re getting along. what are your plans at this point? are you looking for homes or are you just kind of seeing what happens? you said you’re gonna be growing veggies, so is that code for you are going to be a permanent bunny mama for 7 buns?
well the woman i got him from said he was from an unwanted litter and both parents where lionhead lops… which wouldnt make him a cross breed however she also said he was only 6 weeks but my vet reckons he was born in at least mid december so who knows… i love him anyway lol
7 is a lot of buns… i dont think i could cope but good luck to u! i know it must be hard once you develop a bond ![]()
It’s strange, mums ears were always straight but now they flop, sometimes just one up one down, maybe she does have some lop in her.
The babies are the same they were always straight up but now flop.
I want to find homes for them, but unless I hear of a really good home I will keep them, I just can’t let go as I have said because I am scared someone won’t look after them properly or put them outside and get sick of them after a couple of months.
I have to get up at 6am to get them cleaned and fed before I go to work, I am always tired.
I’m sure it is a lot of work, but that is a very cute bunny family that you have.
how many kids do you have and what are their ages? are they old enough to take on a little of the responsibility? if you spent some time teaching them exactly what to do, they might be able to help…
I have a boy 25 and a girl 23. I don’t like to ask for help because I was the one that wanted the animals.
They are ok with the animals but they don’t love them like I do, they say the house is getting overloaded, I also think thats true but I am sick of people killing innocent animals that did nothing wrong.
i applaud you for what you are doing for those buns! well done and remember when you are feeding tired that there are 7 tiny little animals who need your love and you will be fine ![]()
I so have had my fingers crossed this whole time that you’d keep them….maybe you’ll end up keeping them all
Although yes, it’s tonnes of work, I don’t even have half as many and I’m exhausted!!
i tried to respond yesterday but none of my posts were showing up. i think you should ask them, or maybe your daughter to give you a hand. if they can’t help you out for 20 minutes a day, i think you’d need to re-evaluate what you do for them (laundry, dishes, cooking, help with money…) if they get mad, say, “well, i don’t have much time now… i have to stop doing something…”
I get Dave helping out (although he tries to make a point not to help, since that was the deal when I got bunny # 2…and # 3….
) by just asking little tasks in a rushy way…I’m busy cleaning and just say “hey can you grab the dustbuster and zip up those poos there?” or “can you grab the girls and put them in bed while I get the food ready” etc. etc. It’s a work in progress, but he’s helping a bit…. *shrugs*
My daughter lives away from home but coming back soon, she will help, unfortunately I have a lazy family. 🙁
My hubby is good in other ways and helping me with getting the rabbits cages done etc, but the cleaning and feeding he’s not so good. My son at the moment is just a complainer about having too many animals and they mean more to me than anyone else grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
That is not true but they need me, humans can look after themselves. I told him to get rid of all of them then, funny how he said no.
I wouldn’t do that I just wanted to see the reaction.
