So Zeus and I arrived safely at my parents’ house, 2 hours away from where I live. He spent the trip in a small pet carrier with towels and few romaine leaves to snack on. He did well in the car, even ate a few bites of lettuce on the way.
When we got to my parents, the dog crate was already set up. All I had to do was put wood pellets in the litterbox, put his water and food dish in there, and he was good to go! He wasn’t too sure about coming out of the carrier, but once he did and realized there was a cage waiting for him, he was happy. He started eating what was left of his lettuce (I put it in the cage for him) within 5 minutes, and started eating hay within 10 minutes. I gave him about 20 minutes alone to settle in and explore his new cage and look around the room, and when I came back he was flopped out dozing, haha.
The trip was probably tiring for him.
Right now I have him loose in the room (it’s the guest bedroom downstairs, nice and cool and away from the other pets!), and he’s exploring everywhere fearlessly. I’ll leave him out for maybe 5-10 more minutes, then it’s bedtime, I’m tired and I’m sure he is too!

(Oh and PS this is the first time my dad met Zeus.. he totally loves him.
