Spooky (my young rabbit) got into a garbage bag I had sitting on a chair and started chewing on a lysol wipe just a few minutes ago. Is he going to be ok? He didn’t chew for long, I grabbed him pretty quick but I’m still nervous.

        what should I do?

he seems fine right now, and I saw him drink some water and eat some hay. I just want to make sure I don’t need to do anything to flush it out or anything.

he has been eating lots of hay and pellets and I keep offering him his water and he is drinking a lot, hopefully chewing on that wipe won’t bother him.

he only had a hold of it for a second before I grabbed him quickly.

I feel like a really worried mother right now, heh.

I called the emergency vet too and they think he will be okay, but I’m not sure how familiar they are with rabbits.

just want to hear from you guys about this..

Having hay and water seems the best approach. Does the package have any advice on poisoning? Sometimes you can find advice on the product website.

I looked on the website, didn’t see anything. I called the number but they are closed until Monday.

He is back in his cage now just munching on pellets and hay and playing around, seems fine. Maybe this isn’t a big deal but I’m still worried.

If he starts acting funny I will take him to the vet tomorrow. But he seems fine now, I’m the nervous one, ha.

Rabbits can make us so anxious! If he just got into a little bit, (doesn’t sound like he ate much at all), and you called the Emergency Vet, and you’ve been observing him closely, then you’ve really covered your bases. Try to relax and just keep observing him for any digestive upsets over the next couple of days.

He seems perfectly fine, nothing abnormal! Eating and pooping normally. I’m relieved.

I’m glad to hear he is doing okay. They just think their whole world around them is edible so they have to taste everything. Not the last time he will do it. lol
