I could look at Xpens all day and not make any decisions!

He has a cage but it was such an ordeal getting it in the car last time he went on holiday that I think an xpen would be a much better option. I’m looking for one as big as possible, but still foldable and portable.

Any recommendations? UK/Europe based would be good

Antar the Bunny has a good set up! Look at their thread a little farther down on this forum section. It looks pretty cozy, but from the looks of the pen you could double it up for more space.

Pens are so versatile. Even if not using as a permanent habitat, they are super useful to have around to block of areas. Does this one look suitable?

http://canineconcepts.co.uk/product/savic-dog-park-puppy-pens/ It says you can buy extra panels to extend the size.

An alternative would be a dog crate, if you’re just for temporary housing when you go away. They can be folded flat. You can also set up as a cage at home and add levels to them.

Ah. I see from one of your other posts that you are in Sweden. I’ll alert Bam to your query, she may have some suggestions.

I think she’s used  a few wire compost bin panels to make pens or for blocking off areas. Like these.

Ive done the same! I had some exercise pens already but bought the compost “bin” ( which is 4 panels) as a way to extend my existing pens. I used cable ties to add them, as the joiners it came with were inappropriate and had sharp ends.

Thanks! I really like the compost bin idea, will definitely look into that.

I’m from Sweden. I use 8 compost grids as a bunny enclosure at my mum’s. I fasten the grids with cable ties. They fold up nicely so you can transport them. The “door” opening I close with clothes pegs. Beware though, if you don’t get the pegs to grip properly, a cunning bun can open them

On the floor I use a vinyl tablecloth with flocking, then fleece blankets on top.

Compost grids can be bought at at a reasonable price at Biltema or Ö&B, vinyl tablecloths are sold off the roll on Ö&B and Jydsk for example.

Compost grids are really great for bun owners, but if your bun is tiny it could go through the grids. There have also been cases of buns getting their head stuck between the grids. If your bun has those tendencies, it’s safest to line the grids with chicken wire to a height of sth like 30 cm.

All these shops I’ve never been in that have such useful rabbit stuff. Thanks so much. Your setup sounds great, I need to up my game lol My rabbit isn’t small but he’s mischievious and determined, so extra safety measures are always good.

I found a pic of my Vilde in his Christmas compost grid enclosure. Sorry about the hay mess

I had crinkly tunnels as hides in it because boxes would mean he could use them as ramps and maybe jump out of the enclosure. Biltema has nice crinkly cat tunnels at a reasonable price. During the day the enclosure was open (but he still chose to have it as a base of operations), during the night I closed it with clothes pegs.

                                OMG, they could be twins!

Although Vilde is 6 years old, so perhaps he’s Monty’s great.great uncle or sth  I don’t know Vilde’s full history because he’s only been with me since September last year.

Haha I’m currently making a family tree (with pictures! ) so I’ll let you know if I find Vilde. :p Monty is half English and half Skåning and so far I’ve managed to trace back to his great great grandad. Might take me a while to go back 6 years though
