Someone made and gave this away for free. Just finished putting in carpet and some trim. Need to order and add more trim.

The foster had left poo marks on the cardboard townhouse. Then I found this. This weekend I finally let them have access to the area (no current bun has had access to area, only the foster) and I set the cardboard one aside but the buns have been going nuts going to the cardboard one and pooping all over it, all over with giant poops. Maybe they go into the wood one a lot too but they didn’t leave evidence 😆

I had planned on just putting carpet on top of the marks but now wonder if I should just chuck it if there’ll still be a poopfest?

The foster has poop marked  the cardboard house so the others must reclaim it. If it causes a conflict its probably best to remove it (cardboard house), but it seems a rather normal bun behavior/reaction when there’s a new bun!

I agree. If it is causing problems then it’s probably best to just get rid of it.

They prefer the cardboard townhouse so much more than the wood one so I feel bad if I rid of the cardboard one but still so much poop. Can’t they figure out there’s no need for that as foster is long gone?

I’ve been putting treats in the wood one but still, no bun hangs out there. Maybe the the second level of cardboard has a roof over it and the wood one doesn’t??

Yes, a roof is important to buns. Keeps them safe from raptor birds. If you could make some sort of roof for ot I think that’d help a great deal.

I dont know how long they’d need to understand that there actually is no “intruder” (aka foster) occupying “their” cardboard house. Maybe if you remove it and put it back in a couple of weeks they’ll have just forgotten there ever were an intruder who left marking poops in it? Buns can easily become obsessive about stuff, but they tend to forget it if you (temporarily) remove access to whatever they’re obsessing over.

That’s a good idea Bam. Maybe just take the cardboard one away for a little while, then try reintroducing it later.
