My bunny is a little bit younger then 8 months old. He is super nice and will lay right next to you but whatever I try he will not play phone books newspaper, toilet paper roles, cat toys, blankets, stuffed animals, even special bunny toys! he wont play with them his head will move and follow the toy but he will not get of his lazy but to do anything lol.

I want to give him more excersise and be able to bond with him better by playing with him.

My bun prefers just runnign around and sniffing things than playing with toys. Occasionally she’ll toss her grape vine ring around, or play in her paper bag, but thats about it

Each bunny is a little bit different, and some buns just don’t have as much interest in toys as other ones do. Does he binky and do the “bunny 500” a lot? That could be his play style. Or have you noticed him digging or chewing (on things that maybe he shouldn’t) offer him a diggy box or chew toys. Sounds like you’ve tried lots of things, but I’m sure there are some other toys listed on this forum that might interest your bunny. What about making him tunnels to run through or set up study boxes with cut outs that he can climb on/in/through? My bunny has no interest whatsoever in toys, but he loces his tunnel and he loves climbing on things. A cheap way to get a tunnel is to go to the hardware store an buy a concrete form – it’s just a cardboard tunnel and come sin a couple different diameters to accommodate different sized buns Good luck with finding your buns something he likes playing with!

And Monkeybun’s suggestion of the paper bag is a great one, Leroy likes his paper bag too!

Generally speaking, I think bunny’s refuse on principle to do this thing called ‘play’ with toys humans actually prefer for them. Once you actually allow them to play with something, or they thing they are allowed to do it, they won’t. Felony’s ‘toys’ that he plays with include: telephone book, stray paper that is within reach, mail that has fallen from the table, dirty laundry that is on the floor, remote controls, and cell phones that have been left on the couch. Toys he owns: cardboard bunny tube, grass rolly treat ball, ball with bell, hanging chew sticks, hanging bell, chewable log.

Yeah… I stop buying actual toys a long time ago.

I’ll agree that my bun is not a big player with toys. He loves cardboard boxes and pieces of paper, and will sometimes chew on willow things, but mostly when he’s bored and we haven’t been able to spend enough time with him that day. Occasionally he will pick up a toy and throw it around, but only if he’s somewhere where that toy will make a loud noise when he drops it. Haha. All buns are different, so don’t worry if he won’t play. Just keep trying different things (especially cheap things that you won’t mind if he doesn’t like) and maybe you’ll finally figure out what he likes to do.

My bun consistently ignores any “toys” i actually bought – she prefers to pull junk mail out of the trash or play with cardboard boxes.  I think it’s the principle of the thing

I keep buying toys for Freya. She keeps blatently ignoring every single one of them. She’ll play with anything I bring home that I haven’t paid for though, such as paper bags, boxes, phone books (the grocery store has them by the exit.) The other night I was really tired when I went to bed and I always check on Freya on my way past and I thought she needed more hay so I gave her a handful. Well her hay is still in its bag which I dropped just a little too close to her condo apparently. There are a dozen chew holes in the bag, I’m just lucky that she seems fine after that, I swear she’s like a garbage disposal. Our remotes are missing about half the buttons and the carpet has a bald spot. And yet, I buy her toys every time I walk into a pet store.

The only “toy” I can get Chubs or Comet to play with aside from any kind of box/tube tunnel is these little wicker balls they sell at the pet store. They toss and destroy those but that’s it…
