        Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for cage flooring for the wire cube cages. We are currently looking at plastic garage tiles. Although our bun is fairly decent with his litterbox when he jumps out he takes some out with him. (We only have a car for transporting materials) our cage will be two feet by five feet with a 2×2 foot loft.

        Thanks in advance!

I don’t know if this is available in your area, but most big-box hardware stores like Home Depot and Lowes carry Coroplast, otherwise known as corrugated plastic. It is used to make liners for cube cages called C&C (Cubes & Coroplast). It is usually sold in large sheets, like plywood, but is relatively inexpensive. You can score the sheets into “boxes” that fit into your cage so there is a floor and sides. I really like it because it is waterproof plastic and easy to wipe down. I would suggest looking up the C&C cages for more information on where to get supplies and put it all together.

          Good luck!

I brought sheets of plywood home in my car that were almost 6 foot long by 2 and 1/2 feet wide. If your seats in the back fold down it’s an easy fit. Mine don’t so I had the plywood hanging part way out the back of the trunk with a flag on the end and then simply tied the lid of the trunk down with some rope and padded between the plywood. Also, if you fold the front passenger seat all the way back, you can also fit quite long lengths of things over the top of it.

Otherwise, you can use rubber or foam matting as a flooring surface, tiles, laminate flooring, blankets pulled tight underneath the edges of the cage. So many possibilities.

I’ve always used vinyl under my pens. I suppose that would only work for a cube cage if it’s set up on the floor?

Goose seems to be enjoying his new digs. We had to upgrade him because one day a week he is home alone. I struggle with leaving him here alone all day even one day week so we are looking into getting him a friend as well!
