Feeling this one, we just dropped after a warm up, it was about eleven above (C) and now it’s thirty below…Quite the change overnight. I just got this little poem as a forward and its pretty funny so I’ll share. You can sub in the name of where you live, as it applies to pretty much any chilly place (Course you australians with your summer temps right now-not allowed heheh)

        It’s winter in Canada

        And the gentle breezes blow
        Seventy miles an hour
        At thirty-five below.
        Oh, how I love Canada
When the snow’s up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I’ll hang around
        I could never leave Canada
I’m frozen to the friggin’ ground!

          LOL, oh so true.

I am in complete shock that last week we had -40 Celsius temperatures during that cold snap and now for this Saturday they said it’s supposed to be +4 outside!!!! What the heck???? Global warming to the max!!!

Though – one nitpick…that poem, lol, it’s in miles/per hour… we’re Canadians, we do kph!!! lol!

Oh Lesley, you’re exaggerating.. the winds were only 54 km/h yesterday!
Hahah. Oh god, it’s awful, isn’t it? And I grew up on the west coast so I’m not used to this horribly cold weather!

                I think it’s pretty close when it gets that cold.. like -30 C is about -25 F? I think that’s right anyway…

i found a conversion site! it looks like 4 C is the same as about 40 F, but it says -40 C is the same as -40 F. is that right?! that doesn’t sound right.

Yup, my dad used to joke when people would ask Celcius or Farenheit when he told them forty below ‘when it’s that cold it doesn’t matter’

But yes, forty below is where they equal each other

Oh, yes isn’t it great to be Canadian in winter!!!! We broke a 100 year cold record here last week. -43 C. Schools and some businesses actually closed for the day because it was so bad. Lucky me, I got to trek to the barn to work for the day. Apparently, the horses still want to eat even when it’s cold

Well stop your whining and come on down to Australia……..! We’re having a lovely 24C (75F) today. Though next week we’re in for a stretch of 38-40C (100-104F) – ick!

If I could, I’d be in Australia in a second (actually I think the flight is over 20hours!!!) I’ve always wanted to go there. Mom’s planning a trip there in the fall, If I could I would be joining her!
