Due to my having a rabbit pass away without a known cause (except that it was in the digestive track and bacteria in the stomach were upset), my mom is parinoid about my ordering anything for Nova, and is particularily concerned about the willow being bad for her. So what can you tell me about it? Does it add fiber to the diet? Is to much of it dangerous? Should I only let her play with it under supervision?

the willow is very safe and it does provide some fiber. it’s really nice b/c it offers a great chewing distraction. mine have finished off more than their share of willow and i don’t think there’s really any way they can “overdose” on it. i will caution you… a member told a story about a petstore willow ball they got that was very tighly woven and it had a tragic outcome. the willow toys on here are GREAT, they are not so tighly woven that it’s hard to chew. they’re perfect. my buns adore them. they are very inexpensive too, so you might start with just getting a couple (the candy canes and stars are great, as well as the balls!) and see how your bun likes it.
