Is there somewhere to buy a GIANT bag of willow balls? It now takes my girl a couple hours to destroy the giant willow balls. You’d think it was a very yummy treat versus a toy.

I have only gotten one small willow ring and one small willow ball from BB but my buns went CRAZY over them… I think I need some more.

Sometimes craft stores will have willow items and one store I go to usually has 1/2 off sales quite often.

If you do buy willow baskets from craft stores and places like that, how can you tell if they’re safe? I’m sooo worried about it being treated or whatever. Is a good rule of thumb to just avoid it if they’re shiny? Jack and Bunny go through them so fast I can’t keep up!

I do avoid shiny willow toys as well as the ones with glue on them.

There is no way to know for sure when you buy them from craft stores that they haven’t been treated. Many times, especially when they come from a different country and in the case of red willow that makes up the balls — even in craft stores (which is not grown in the United States), they can be treated with preservatives and especially pesticides. Though they can be the same type of wood, the way they are treated for pet use has to be done differently and approved by the wholesaler — when selling for pet use, it is specified that they are not treated. However to the someone just looking at it, there is no way to tell.

To be safe, I would just order them online. BB sells them and they are very inexpensive, or other rabbit sites…

Yeah, alright. I’ll keep doing that. I hate the shipping, but better safe than sorry. I’d hate to give them something dangerous. Thanks

It’s not really inexpensive when they disappear withn a couple hours. They are now more precious than treats with my female. I bought a willow tunnel and now I’m afraid to let them have it for fear that it’ll disappear quickly too.

I’d rather they destroy their willow toys than destroy the furniture or carpet Cheaper to replace the toys!
