I found Lily eating my pretty flowered branches that were in a vace, didn’t know if they were safe for her, so I have willow trees. Cut branches with the leaves on, put them in a vase for her. She eats almost 3 big branches in seconds. Could I feed her too much of them? She also eats about 3-4 cups greens (parsley, romaine lettuce) has unlimitted hay, and pellots available to her all day, but she preffers willow leaves!

I think willow branches are supposed to be thoroughly dried out before giving to a bunny… Let me get someone else in on this…

Lily only eats the branches when they are dried, but the leaves, its like she cant get enough of them. After she clears all the leaves off, i take the branches to dry out.

Thank you! I will try to keep them as treats, but she still eats everything else too! LOL! She also gets pear branches with leaves on them! I am kind of lucky I have all of these trees on my property & know there’s no pesticides used! I wash them off really well before I give her any, just in case of bugs!

I can’t wait til my little willow is big enough to harvest from. I used to get the small bags of them and the bunnies went crazy over them. I had to dole them out one at a time to make them last.

She goes crazy for them too! I have weined her off of them, well a little! I still go out every morning & cut a couple of the twigs off for her, but not as much as I used to! We have huge willow trees & pear tree’s too! It is so awesome to see her get so excited for them! I found that it’s the simplest things that get her excited, paper bags, brown sheets of paper (packing paper) phone books, etc!
