I got this recipe off the internet probably about a month ago, tonight was the first time I could try it….how easy this was and Willie loved it!!!

It is called How to Make Nutritional Rabbit Treats-

Place two small carrots and a banana in a blender and process on “puree” until very smooth.  Add a half- cup of rolled oats and 1/2 C of your rabbit pellets into a grinder and grind up very fine.  Blend until smooth with the carrot/banana mixture and roll out between two pieces of waxed paper, then cut into small cookies.  Cover a cookie sheet with foil and place the unbaked cookies on the sheet. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. and place the cookies in teh oven. Turn overn off after 30 minutes and let the cookies remain in the oven until cool.

I was lazy and just spread it out over the foil and baked it as a whole thin blob!  Then I just broke it off into pieces to store. Willie loves it!

        Just wanted to share

I was beginning to think of snacking on it myself until you got to the ground pellets, LOL. Yum!

You can really smell the banana in it. A couple things…..yes…it really is 30 minutes to bake. You almost want to take it out sooner, but don’t.  And it also seems like a small amount…but again, this is just a treat, so maybe one or two a day..it will be plenty for a couple weeks. Smells awesome. Willie is going bonkers over it!  He was doing a happy dance around me the whole time it was baking. It was hilarious! At first I couldn’t figure out what he was so excited over. It was the first time I actually saw him “shoo” away the dog…..  He must have known…lol

I wonder how many points it is on weight watchers?

                (I’ve tasted dog biscuits. Ugh.)

Just wanted to chime in and say that I try everything…once!  Well, tasting pet food anyway.  I tried PupCorn and it tastes just like unsalted Cheetos!!  We used to get new kids at the barn to try horse electrolytes – they smell like Kool-Aid – they taste like salt, of course!!!

Anyway, I will definitely try this treat for the Bindizilla – maybe it will help sweeten her up!

Thanks for the great recipe Bren!

I have tried different hays (1st cut & 2nd cut Timothy and Orchard)… they all tasted exactly like hay smells, but couldn’t  tell the difference in taste. LOL.

You know the wet dog food that is in a roll like liverwurst …it’s called like Nutrabalance..something like that. But it looks like sandwich stuff?

My dad was using it in his sandwiches for lunch until my mom asked where all the wet dog food went. Lol! We never let him live it down! All he read was the oh 100% natural vitamin this and that and he was like yay healthy food nom nom nom!

Thanks for the recipe~ I’m going to try it tomorrow on my day off!

OMG Lintini!! That is so gross! LOL! That gave me a good laugh! How long did your dad enjoy his dog food lunches before he discovered what he was doing?
