in reading about bonding I saw that if the buns go at it right off there is no chance they will bond. is this true. I am hoping when Itty Bitty Feda gets a little older and spayed they will quit fighting each other.  Cotton still upset I held her and spent time with her. I went to spend time with him and he was mad I didn’t let him bite me tho.he got my left side of my face her first day here and the right side last nite ahaa. well it isnt’ bad or anything. I am disciplining him tho a firm no and hold his head so he can’t bite me again and knows I am boss bunny. yes Mommy bunny is the boss bunny kids. I mean they really go at it. no cuts or hair flying but still scares me so I keep them seperate I can’t just let them fight it out I am scared would hurt each other real bad. I saw what Cotton did to Laith’s face and under his neck so I dont’ trust him not to hurt her and she fights back gee. but no matter their safety and peace of mind are more important to me than if they get along at this point. I have not put them together since those 2 times and I was holding Cotton the 2nd time and holding Itty Bitty Feda the first time to be safe and pull them away from danger if they fought. she got thru her gate and they both went at it I ran real fast and grabbed her quick grabbed the first one I could. well took long time for him to get along with Laith. so maybe one day.

awe my stepsons baby under 1 yr old not even year old yet got attacked by Pitt Bull yesteday afternoon. he will need some plastic surgery for the next year. so sad poor little baby messed his face up bad. I just talk to my son and he told me that. always something with those 2 stepkids. I hope the dog is put down if it was mine I would probably do it myself. so sad. and my step sons and i dont’ talk much I did with Neal but the other one not since that big fight we had. thats sad. I still care tho. anyway enuf sad stuff.

Oh how awful about the baby. I’m so sorry. How traumatic for the baby and parents. I hope they reported the incident to the authorities. I have no clue about bonding. I’m sure someone here with a lot of experience will help. Take care.

i am sorry to hear about your grandson.  that’s very scary.  i truly hope he heals okay.

as far as the bonding i would not stress yourself about it until after the spay.  keep them separated and read up about different bonding processes.  remember it may take a month or two or three to get desired results.  worst case scenario you may need some professional bonding help.

OH Bunnytowne that is so sad what happened to the lil sweet boy … I dislike those dogs and they can change temperament so quickly … I just don’t trust them at all.  They should never of been introduced .. they are fighting dogs!

As for bonding, I agree, take it slowly and wait till Itty Bitty Feda is spayed.  It can be a long process … some bunnies just bond and others don’t.  I have had an experience with bonding Sprinkles and Lily (Lily died over 12 months ago now).  Both females … but was difficult but after about 6 months they were kinda ok together as long as I was with them both to stop any mishaps.  However, when Sprinkles bit off half of Lily’s ear I gave it away … it was very stressful and you need a lot of patience, time and energy.  That is when Sprinkles went to live with the ex and I just had Lily then.

Personally, I feel that once bunnies are bonded to a human it is difficult to introduce another bunny into the household.  Thats just my opinion but others may disagree.  Sprinkles is definitely attached to humans.

Since I have had Luey out roaming he follows me everywhere … I have thought about getting another bunny, but somehow I think I am going to have the same issue with him.

I hope things settle down between Cotton and IB Feda.  You never know once IB Feda is spayed things may change.

              Dawn xx

I’m so sorry about the baby. That’s awful. I’ve heard dog experts talk about Pitt Bulls, and according to them it’s not necessarily their nature to be viscious, rather they are trained badly by viscious people, and are the dog of choice by these jerks. But, if a human can’t handle his mistakes, the dog and everyone else suffers.

Can you have a special shirt that you put on when spending time with IB Feda, and then take off later with Cotton? Do they smell each other on your skin, too? I hope that the neutering helps. Maybe they need to go to a specialist in bonding like MarkusDark did with his. He is the expert here on difficult, slow bonding sessions.

I would try to limit any contact- physical, visual and scent until she spayed and you can truly try bonding them.  A bed experience now could lead to neagtive feelings toward each other later.  Cotton is probably very confused and needs time to adjust losing Laithe and adding a new bunny to the house.  Did you recently move too?  That is alot of change in a short period of time!!!
