Hi everyone, this is my first time using this website so I’m not sure if I’m doing it correctly so please be patient with me lol. I’ve had my male rabbit Nemo (mini rex)  for about 3 months, I’d guess hes about 6 months old. He’s definitely super roudy, probably because hes young. Anyway, he was neutered about a month ago and I’ve read it can take up to 8 weeks for them to fix the territorial/hormonal habits and I’ve read about and tried a lot of different things you can do to prevent bed peeing and pooping but he is relentless. Since being neutered he uses his litter box in his pen a lot better but still leaves some poops outside of it. I was mostly wondering if he will likely stop marking my bed in the next few weeks or if it’s normal for rabbits to keep doing that after being neutered. I just would really like to be able to trust him in my room alone so that I won’t have to put him up when I leave. I also appreciate any tips to get him to stop doing that. I just wanted to see if any of you had this same issue in the past and if your rabbit ever stopped doing it. He is quite stubborn lol, but we have a great bond and I want us both to be happy. Thank you all for any advice or personal stories I’d love to hear from you! 🙂

Unfortunately beds can be a problem area, even for neutered buns! Beds are soft and smell strongly of humans, two things that trigger marking.

He might stop… he might not. Some members have success with blocking the area temporarily to break the habit (x-pens work well for this). Others have put a shower curtain under a blanket on top of the bed. The shower curtain blocks some of the smell and also makes clean-up easier if he does pee.

So I would prob try blocking the bed for a few weeks and see if that changes things.
