You know when it’s dry, your nose bleeds? Or skin crack? Do rabbits do that too? What happens if they do?

It has never happened with any of my buns. I doubt it happens a lot. Rabbits always breathe through their noses, so their noses are kept more moist than ours. When our noses get so dry inside that the skin cracks, it’s mostly because we’ve had a stuffed nose and have been breathing through the mouth.

A rabbit can of course bump into sth or scrape it’s nose (on cage bars f ex) and bleed from the nose. If sth like that happens, it’s important to check the teeth for damage.

I’ve never heard of a bunny nose being so dry it bleeds. Their noses tend to be slightly damp to the touch because of condensation from their breath.

Thanks so much! I was really worried because the ac is on, and it hurts the nose to breathe sometimes.
