These are actually kind of old pictures (from this summer), but I figured they’d be appreciated because they’re so cute. Also, what kind of cottontails are so relaxed as to come flop in my backyard…? o__o; (And don’t worry, he’s not a sick bunny– we get these guys all the time. It’s probably because we don’t mow our lawn…. and they run away pretty quick if you try to catch them ^__^)

(For the record, the thing about chasing them was a joke– I have scared them away trying to take pictures, though. >< I wouldn't chase some poor relaxed rabbit just for fun...)

i’ve never seen a wild bun flopped like that… that’s amazing!  we have wild buns all over our property… we live on almost 4 acres… much of which is wooded and/or unmowed.  we also have several deer, so maybe the buns are too scared of them?

Thank you muchly. The rabbits in my yard are disturbingly relaxed… in the highest heat of the summer they dig themselves into little sandy pits in the shade and just lie down… it’s so cute. It’s bizarre, too, because I live in a residential neighborhood with dogs on both sides, and plenty of other wildlife to boot. But my backyard is fenced in by trees on three sides and a house on the other, so they probably feel very secluded and safe. n___n It’s lovely being able to see them all calm and happy during the warmer months. I consider myself very lucky to have a backyard full of buns!

when i was first contemplating getting another rabbit, we had a couple little babies in our front yard.  i would just sit at the window and watch them run and play and jump around.  they were so cute.  it definitely made me anxious to get another bun.

that’s too cute! My dad’s neighborhood wild yard bunny has become very interactive. My dad hasn’t had the heart to stop him from eating all kinds of organic goodies from their veggie garden. 🙂

^___^ I’m glad these are such a hit! My yard bunnies were the source of all my rabbit information before I got one… I saw these guys flop before I saw pet bunnies do so. (I also learned from the yard bunnies that rabbits do not have balls of fuzz stuck to their bum, but rather they have, um, real tails. o___o My mom and I were terrified the first time we saw a bunny tail come away from a bunny bum– we thought he was broken. >< )

                                Cute pictures!!

We had a baby bunny hang around our work (he’s still around, I’m at a different job though) and he would dig up dirt and flop and roll in it, only a few feet away from us-super cute bunny!! We named him thumper…. hehe
