Wilbur and Mimzie found a home and rocky is happy!!!!

My little pair finally found a home (the girl was really nice and I got along well with her), brought them there last night and Rocky seems to be quite happy, but have had him on the bed my my Guinea pig (supervised only for small periods at a time) and he still wants a grooming friend!!!I have been briefly playing with the idea of going to the shelter near by as i know they have a little female bun about his age and seeing how they get along, should i just leave it be for those who know whats gone on? Should i give it a shot?I know rocky would have been fine with Mimzie had she not all ready been bonded to Wilbur so it may just be a sex thing with whom he gets along.  oh lol that sounded bad….

Amy that’s great!!! Can you take Rocky to the shelter to see if he does get along with the female? I am thinking that because Rocky had to share space he may not be so territorial if he does find a new friend so it might not be a bad time to try. Of course it is totally up to you and what are are able to handle right now as well. It must feel like a bit of an empty nest. LOL That last part did sound a little bad, but I know what you mean.

he seems so happy to have his room back, I put a nice rug down, one of those funny rugs that seem like like could almost be a really heavy blanket. No worries as he is not a chewer with his poor little messed up mouth. I put a bed, his little cat condo and a big stuffed bun that he started oinking for until he realized it wasn’t real lol! Poor thing! I hadn’t seen him really binky in a long time, so that gave me a few smiles! I guess I will just see how he does for a bit, I know he would get bored after a while then all the chaos with the other buns and I think he was sure he would have a friend! He is certainly getting alot more attention though then I had been able to give him and he gets to have his bedroom back and be free range in it again. I might check out the little girl bun at the shelter (and bring him there)as who knows she may end up being the one for him! You may want to take a bit of time to relax after all the adoptions out, perhaps a week or two – because you never know if the adopters might need some additional help with their new pets, and you’ll want to be available to help them out if they need it. So if you are bonding two buns and then trying to help out the other adopters on top of that, you might end up with quite a lot to handle all at once! I’d give things a bit of time to calm down – unless of course Rocky falls in love with Pokie at first site…!

well I called the shelter and i guess there is one other female that isn’t listed as well. The problem is, they won’t let me bring Rocky there to meet them (it’s not allowed and will "stress out" my Rocky). So she suggested I just go in and talk to the folks the work with them the most and see if I can figure it out, and they then said I could bring her back no questions….but they are a kill shlter…not high kill but even if they didn’t bond I don’t know that I could bring her back. Good news is they do at least spay/neuter the buns as I know not all shelters do.
