I’ve posted before about accidentally kicking my bunny, and I’ve gotten very good at avoiding him for the most part, but why do bunnies run into your feet? Every morning first thing I feed Moonpaw his greens. He gets really excited and zigzags in front of me and without fail will dive face first into my feet. I’ve learned to pause when I see him about to do it so he doesn’t get kicked in the face. But why? Why would you run face first into a solid object?! And not jist occasionally, but every single morning.

Hahah! I have to do the “bunny shuffle” at my place other wise Bun Jovi will end up getting kicked! I honestly think they are just so excited they don’t know what to do with themselves. Bertha doesn’t do this, so I always wonder if it’s because his vision isn’t as good? Bertha zig zags too, but is a bit slower (she’s bigger and slower in general). Is Moonpaw a red-eyed-white?? They have slightly worse vision.

No, he’s a BEW, but I am fairly sure he is deaf so maybe he has vision problems too. He almost never runs around, he goes slow and sniffs everything, so I don’t think he’d run into anything even if he didn’t see well. His veggies are the only thing that get him running around and he does run into my legs whenever he does it so who knows.

Ugh, just today as I was walking to put down his morning veggies my Xavier must have put his head in front of my foot because it hit him with a very disturbing “thonk” like rapping on a wood box. I was horrified and apologetic but he didn’t care because VEGGIES VEGGIES VEGGIES.

My female, who died from non-foot-related causes, would always do this! One time, she jumped ON TOP of my foot while I was headed to put down her veggies. I tripped and sent her flying a couple of feet, and almost landed on my male in the process! Makes me grateful for the two shy boys I have now…

I was once on a jog at night and a nutria (picture a beaver with a rat tail) came running out of the bushes and ran across my foot just as my foot came up and I launched the poor thing a good 10 feet through the air. I don’t think I’ve ever screamed so loud. At least my bunny never surprises me like that.

Haha. I can’t say I’ve kicked one yet but I can’t decide if I’ve tripped over one of my bunnies or one of their toys more. They definitely are out to trip people. There was a spell of time when Doodles would run behind me while I was walking with his pellets and he wanted to get to his bowl so fast he’d run right into my ankles. He had the nerve to growl at me for it.

This is quite cute actually ? My previous bunny wouldn’t zig zag in front of me, but when I was preparing his food, he would do hopping circles around me, jumping in the air (bunobatics I call them) and shaking. Just excited to see you obviously, no matter the time of day ???
