I’ve always wondered this. Adopt A Bunny month is February, but why? Why not around April? That’s when most bunnies need homes. Or at least empty a few spots for new bunnies in the upcoming monthes. It’s just a little wierd to me. Anybody else wonder this?

hmmm… maybe to try to get as many bunnies to good homes before easter?  thats my guess.  but i’m so new to hearing about rabbit rescue that i could be mistaken.

I think most people involved with rabbit rescue want nothing to do with Easter.  Bunnies around Easter time are so susceptible to impulse adoptions that many rescues will not even do adoptions around that time.  We hold adoption shows 3 times a month, but not the two weeks prior to Easter.

Another horrible phenomenon around this time of year is the dumping of one year old bunnies at shelters or in the wild, to be replaced by a tiny cute baby bunny on Easter morning.

              SIGH!!!

what is wrong with people?? It upsets me sooo much!! Like every time disney releases some sort of dalmation movie, everyone runs out and buys one, and then (since they *aren’t* -stereotypically- good family dogs) they are dumped at shelters (and euthanized)….

Don’t you just wish you could shake people??? And I seriously don’t get the “It’s just a ______<type of animal" attitude!! ARGGGG!!

i know…i mean i know there are extenuating circumstances…but seriously people seem to get pets with no look to the future and then just give them up like hairstyles!!!

My boyfriend’s sister is thinking of letting her daughter get a bunny….and she awesomely said “your taking that bunny when you move out”….daughter…”I”m not moving any time soon”…..her “so??? They live ten years at least” ….She’s awesome and her daughter will do a good job once she is alloed (shes not young 13)
