I was filming my bunny eating her veggies and noticed some white snot come out of her nose which she quickly wiped off. This is the first time I’m seeing something like this. She seems to be fine otherwise but I have noticed some teeth grinding since the last few days. Is this the start of snuffles?? What should I do?

Take your bun to the vet asap with regards to teeth grinding (assuming it’s not the happy type of teeth grinding that may happy when you’re petting bun).

Tooth grinding can be ambiguous (is it purring? is it frustration? – my bun would do that. is it pain?). But if it’s abnormal for her, then it could be a sign of pain or discomfort.

A nasal discharge, especially one that isn’t clear, is definitely a cause for concern. If it was just something like hay dust causing irritation, it tends to be clear. So I do think a trip to the vet is in order. Best to catch an URI early so it doesn’t have time to fester.

So i saw some white milky snot fly out of her nose again today. The thing is im from a 3rd world country and have no access to a good rabbit savvy vet. Taking her to the vet here is like a shot in the dark. If it truly is a respiratory problem they won’t know how to treat her. Doing a nasal swab or an xray of the sinuses etc is something I doubt they can do. Would you guys be able to guide me on the medication?

I have also realised this has been happening since many months now. I was noticing these white drops on furniture and assumed it was her spraying urine and the white was calcium. But just now the white spot dropped from her nose in front of me and I realised it’s from her nose all along. She has NO other symptoms of a respiratory illness. Literally no other signs. She’s so active and poops and eats just fine. Could it be a dental issue?

Can respiratory illnesses be there for months like in her case and the rabbit not show any other signs except nasal discharge?
