Hi every bun! I am curious where do you get hay for your bun? I’ve tried small pet select and oxbow. But recently their product contains a lot of hay pieces/powder, my bun coffee wouldn’t touch them. I am wondering where do you get high quality hay? Locally or online? Thank you very much!

I cannot vouch for these in person, never having seen them, but these are a couple other brands Ive heard mentioned on here. KMS Hayloft and American Pet Diner and Alfalfa King. The Binky Bunny store also sells hay. If you have some horse stables in the area, it might be worth approaching them and seeing if you can buy small quantity from their supply. Horse quality hay is suitable for rabbits.

The 2 brands youve had are fairly reputable. Was it bagged or boxed hay? It could be you received some if the older stock which breaks down more readily. There is a lot of seasonal variation in hay.

My two cents on Small Pet Select – I really like them, but we have also occasionally had problems with quality. One batch of Timmothy a few months ago was all yellow and had burrs in it!

We contacted them directly about it, and they immediately offered to refund our purchase or send a replacement. They sent a replacement that arrived in 2 days, and was of much better quality So if you’re not totally over them yet it could be worth reaching out.

I’ve always been very happy with SPS hays. Never had better hay. I suspect you just had bad luck with iffy batches.
