I am about 60 miles from Pittsburgh, in WV.
I am proudly owned by a horse, a bun, a scottish terrier, a persian cat, and a chocolate lab. Oh yeah! A beta fish too! lol.
He stole the pop can! haha!

My fiance’ and I.

i am from birmingham! noooo not alabama in the UK! (though i wish i was in alabama, gotta be better than here! ugh.
What beautiful animals. I’m jealous. I live in an apartment in Gilroy, California. So my animal ownership is limited to 1 bunny and a betta fish. (I have a leopard gecko at work). I grew up in Colorado and always had a variety of pets, including a Great Horned Owl! Someday I hope to have a house with more space because I would love a Flemmish Giant Rabbit and a Great Dane! Can you imagine!
Oh and BTW I love that you call it “Pop” when I moved to Califoirnia, I was ridiculed mercilessly so switched to calling it “soda” ……lame.
lol…When I was younger I was reading lots of british novels (horse novels) and they always said soda, so I picked it up…No one knew what i was talking about!!! Pop is what everyone calls it up here!!
lol. soda just sounds so weird for me!
I remeber as a kid in Colorado we were visiting some of my dads friends and the lady asked me to go to the garage and get some soda…I looked everywhere and couldn’t find any. I was if course looking for the orange Arm & Hammer box ![]()
lololol!
We have never called pop soda in the UK 🙂 We would be laughed at for doing so!!! It’s thought to be an American term. Maybe those books were aimed at an American market? We have a particular flavour pop which is called ‘cream soda’ but still refer to it as pop!
I grew up in Chgo, where its called “pop”. I moved to Philadelphia, where its called “soda”. People always made fun of me when I first moved out her and called it pop. So I learned quickly to call it soda. Now my family makes fun of me when I visit and call it soda….they act like I’m all “hoity toity”…ooh soda. When my nephew visits, he always calls it pop. When we go out to restaurants, some people don’t know what he’s asking for/about. Its like I have to translate from midwestern to east coast.
I love all your pets…no wonder you and the fiance look so happy in your Christmas pic! Hey Gilroy gal…I’ve harassed you about the garlic ice cream b/f….I have 2 leopard geckos, 4 cats, & 2 bunnies in our little dumpy apt. We can’t move out of this crappy place until we get a house b/c no apt would allow us to keep all our pets.
Thanks so much!
aww, thanks for sharing pictures of your family 🙂 they’re just lovely!
Thanks!!!
I am from all over the place: Pennsylvania, Florida, Arizona, NYC, Massachusetts. I did most of my growing in Texas – my family is all in San Antonio. I have lived in Colorado for 10 years now – It is my home.
To me – it’s all Coke – even if it is Sprite or Root Beer or whatever. “You want a Coke or something?” However, I’m a water or Ice Tea girl – must be a Southern thing.
Beautiful furry friends. I am from North Huningdon PA about 20 mintues from Pittsburgh PA. I like “pop’. When I was I in CA visiting family and I ordered a pop the waitress said you are from Pittsburgh.
