When to switch to easy entry litters?

Hi all!

I have one of those hay feeder/litter box combos, and was looking to get a second one. The site I’m looking at offers an “easy entry” litter box option, and I am curious at what age people consider switching to a low profile litter? My bun is turning 6 in April which is not particularly old, but he will be considered a “senior” bunny. Even though he’s still pretty spry, I’m wondering if I should I just get the easy entry one now? I should add that he’s a  stubborn and/or lazy peer, so my concern is he’ll hang his fluffy butt over the low edge. Obviously I can always put a washable mat under it…but what did those with older buns do?

There’s no harm in getting one before it seems needed. Generally there is no age recommendation of when to transition — it is usually done in reaction to the owner noticing that their rabbit is, for one reason or another, reluctant to use higher-sided litter boxes.
