I have two bunnies, One 6+ Months old neutered male (Bugzy) and other just over a month female (Nimo- just got her). I was wondering what would be the best time to introduce them. Although there is no danger in late introduction but still wanted them to be together as soon as possible so that none of them has to stay alone and can get more space togeather. Also I have a feeling that if Nimo is introduced as a kid they will get along quickly . so any suggestions

You said Nimo is over a month old, is she at least 8 weeks old? She shouldn’t really be sold before then.

If the female rabbit is still pretty young and isn’t ready to be spayed, i really wouldn’t suggest attempting to bond them before then.

Firstly even though your male rabbit is neutered, he may still try to mount her as part of the bonding process and because she’s only a baby and probably would be of small size, this may frighten her.

Furthermore her behavior may change when she becomes hormonal so this may cause them to fight later on.

From my experience my older female was really hostile towards the baby male rabbit we got for her and she got very territorial when sharing a room, although they had separate cages. I would advise you to introduce them in separate cages with enough space so they can’t nip each other otherwise keep the female completely separate from the male (in different rooms) until she’s spayed and you can start your bonding sessions in neutral territory.

As an added bonus you would get to know Nimo a little bit more and bond with her before introducing to Bugzy

It’s best to wait until after your female is spayed. Even if you were able to bond them now, once her hormones start kicking in, she will most likely become territorial and they would probably need to be separated. You don’t want to risk either bunny getting hurt.
