Is there  a certain age that rabbits start chewing wires, walls and furniture?

All of my rabbits are 3- 7 months old and during free roam they just run and play and  have showed no interest in chewing anything besides the toys they have in their cages.

Depends on the rabbit. My male won’t chew anything he isn’t supposed to – he nibbled a book and the wall trim twice when I first got him and that is it. My female when her hormones hit (6ish months) went nuts and chewed/dug everything she could get her little mouth/paws on.

It does depend on the rabbit, since some like chewing, others digging or climbing, etc.
A smart rabbit tastes something, learns it isn’t food, and tends to ignore it after that. A smart rabbit who likes chewing as a game will taste something, possibly never swallow bits of it, but grind down their teeth, pull it apart, and generally use their teeth to make little breezy holes in their environment.

Seriously, it is possible that when they get to be teenagers they get worse about chewing, but regardless of the age or personality, always bunny-proof your home just in case. It only takes one electric shock or one completely useless television cord to make life miserable for both of you.

Bunny proof bunny proof bunny proof.

I live in an apartment and I connected an x-pen with nic grids to bunny proof around the TV area. I also put a baby gate in front of the fireplace.

When I moved into the apartment, my rabbit was more than a year old. She began chewing the baseboards, but stopped after I put perfume on it. She also made some carpet holes at the old house that I used to live at. I would cover it up with a book or a tile.

It really depends. My two year old has never shown much interest in chewing anything. My four year old doesn’t chew much either, but when she gets it into her head that she wants to go after one particular thing she’ll chew on it for days until I can get her to stop – otherwise she doesn’t chew anything.
